Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 4, 2019

The gameplay of Apex fuses elements from a variety of video games, including Respawn's own Titanfall series, battle royale games, class-based shooters, and those with evolving narratives. Approximately sixty players are pitted against each other on an island in squads of three, with one player controlling where their squad lands. The squads then must scavenge for weapons and other resources to fight other squads, during which the play area gradually constricts in size until one squad remains, thus ending the match. The game also features care packages and the ability to revive your teammates within a certain amount of time. Communication with team members can be done through voice chat or through a ping system, allowing teammates to mark supplies, locations, and enemies with ease. The game features eight heroes to choose from (though two of them are locked by default), and features a microtransaction system for cosmetic items.

Has anyone tried the new battle royale game? It's like a mix of Overwatch, Fortnite, etc etc. I don't like shooters but I am kinda addicted. The ping system is great, the movement feels so smooth, and it's free, so why not?

It's a lot of fun for sure. The ping system is probably the best form of communication I've seen from any team-based game to date that doesn't require a mic. That being said, I always get a ton of stupid people who leave the second they die rather than wait to be picked up and respawn. I played a ton of Titanfall 2 so the gameplay is a less complex form of the pilot gameplay (no wall-running). It's funny because my main faction was Apex Predators so to see a game based on them as well as hear the guy's "You kill them, you're better. They kill you, you're better" in the opening cinematic is really cool. I think the biggest thing it needs right now is new modes. I love this game and Fortnite, but as far as modes Fortnite has this game beat in that area.

I think the game is ok. It’s well made and is fun but I got bored kinda quick. I just don’t play it enough maybe and I have other games I’m more interested in. I think it’s that way with most battle royale games for me. Sometimes when my friends play and invite me I’ll play, I mainly use wraith lol I’m ok at it. Just hope they add a new map at some point for it, that would be cool

I've never been one for BR games. I've played PUBG and Fortnite and didn't enjoy them, they weren't appealing and felt so off with lag and whatnot. But there's something about Apex Legends that makes it stand out from them, and it's maddeningly addictive. I like that it's a mesh of games that blew up in popularity and it really hits the mark in refreshing what team based shooters and BR games could be. And with the three man squads it is so easy to find two friends to play with, it's great.
I uhhhhhh hop between Wraith and Mirage depending on who, out of my friends, I'm playing with. My best friend loves Mirage, as do I, so I'll fall back to Wraith, whereas two of my other friends like Bloodhound so that's when I usually get my chance to play as Mirage. Also one of my friends and I won a match in a two man squad, felt really exhilerating to be honest as it was also her first win, aha. :')
Can't wait to see where Respawn take the game.

Would any of you recommend this game? I keep hearing ppl talking about it and playing it but i haven't gotten around to downloading it yet.

I've never played Fortnite. Only seen some gameplay when my nephew played, ha. What kind of game modes do they have?

Yess my most satisfying win is also when we started as a two man squad. The third never loaded in. I like to play Wraith and Lifeline, but Pathfinder is finding a special place in my heart. His q is very fun to use!

So apparently Fortnite stole the ping and respawn system from Apex. Are they really dying that fast?! xD
