There's no way to take off the roller skates regualry, you have to pull your itemfinder to walk around normally with the circle button.
Also, what's the point of having roller skates when the running shoes and bicycle exist?!?!
Interestingly I was coming here to see if anyone else felt the way I do in relation to X and Y. I have to say, this series is a let down. It doesn't hold my interest like Black 2 did especially since they removed medal rally, the grottoes, POKESTAR!, etc. I really really liked Pokestar, that was a lot of fun and the pokemon trainer pr video's are lame. I have no drive to want to play the game like I did with B2. Having said that, here's the big things that bother me:
1. Removed gameplay features (grottoes, pokestar, medal rally, etc)
2. Idiotic non-controllable camera
3. Ugly and unnatural movements of the playable character
4. A camera feature that totally ignores the true beauty of the game by forcing static positions
5. Boring story
6. Charging money for PC boxes and transferring pokemon between game generations
- This last one is a huge irritation. As an IT professional who works with data and databases (among other things), I can give you a professional guarantee that Nintendo's excuse about size is bull****. Charging for the ability to transfer pokemon when the system and programming is already available is greedy. Nintendo is envious of the residual revenue streams that other publishing houses have.
This is Nintendo's attempt to get customers comfortable with paying for a subscription service. Given the very little data that makes up the "PC Box", 5 dollars is too much money. Having said that, it won't be long before 5 dollars a year turns into .99 cents a month (more than double 5/year). This is a distraction tactic companies use to get you accustomed to the practice of paying for something that doesn't need to be paid for (there's plenty of space on the cartridge and the 3ds/memory card itself). They're employing consumer psychology techniques which are known to manipulate consumer behavior.
An example of these technique's is to entice you to buy more at a grocery store. When presented with two deals, "buy 2 get 1 free" vs "33% off", consumers think the "buy 2 get one free" is a better deal, when in fact they're the same. The 5 dollar offer from Nintendo is perceived to be a good deal, when in reality we're being asked to pay for something that doesn't have to cost anything. Given the incredibly small size of the database file (do not include images or programmatic behavior, that exists in the game itself), and how cheap it is to host a cluster of application and database servers, 5$ per person per year is ridiculous. Especially given how this system doesn't NEED to be an internet based system.
...but $5 a year/99 cents a month isn't really that much. A hobo could pick up a five dollar bill and pay for it, lol.... And you get more boxes than your PC can hold from what I can see with this, so it's worth it for people that need the extra space.
I don't like how early you get the exp share. This thing made the main story a breeze. I know I could always just turn it off but it's so tempting to just leave it on. When games force me to try it's more of a challenge. Next run through I do is gonna be a nuzlocke without exp share.
Thanks for the economics lesson, but $5 a year/99 cents a month isn't really that much. A hobo could pick up a five dollar bill and pay for it, lol. And you get more boxes than your PC can hold from what I can see with this, so it's worth it for people that need the extra space. Also, it's optional, unlike something such as Obamacare in the US, so it's not like we're forced to pay it.
uhhh hhh ,
idk i dont rly care for team flare or whateer their name is. im not too far in the game ( i just beat clemont so ) but they seem...really boring..and i dont care about them...unless they have a hot green haired boy who loves pokemon then i will not care......
i wish they brought some stuff back like cooking those puffy things. yeah its fun to play games for them but i kinda enjoyed making them. also pokemon contests those were fun,, and i wish we could talk to them outside their pokeball.........
i personally enjoy the roller skates. its better than running imo!!
The fact that Pokemon Z will probably happen and that people will regret buying X & Y
