I'm going to start a nuzlocke challenge. I vow not to quit. If I decide to quit I can't play pokemon ever again (gulp).
I'll update this post with my latest info soon.
Nuzlocke Challenge:
Trainer Name: Nuzlock (just in case I forget some day)
Dewott (Splash) - Level 24
Roggenrola (Rocky) - Level 22
Deceased: Patrat (Patty) - level 2 (Route 1), Patrat (Pat) - level 4 (Route 2), Pansear (Sear) - level 10 (Dreamyard), Purrloin (Luxury) - level 9 (Route 3)
Gym Badges: 2
I'm going to sleep for tonight. I'll officially start working on it tomorrow.
UPDATE: went to route 1 and caught the first pokemon I saw, a patrat. I nicknamed it patty. By the time I finished battling N in accumula town Splash became level 9, which I'm very proud of him for. I went back to train Patty and he got criticaled and fainted, so I released him

. About to start route 2.
UPDATE: I caught the first pokemon I saw on route 2, another patrat which I nicknamed pat, except this time it was level 4. I went back to train it on route 1 and it got criticaled and fainted, so I released it

(DARN, twice in a row now that that's happened). Heading back to route 2 now.
UPDATE: I made it into Striaton City with Splash ending up being level 11. I'm about to visit the dreamyard, but going to skip getting the monkey from the person since I can't.
UPDATE: I finished the dreamyard and decided to buff Splash up as much as I can to face cheren, that way I won't lose with just one pokemon. Then I'll face the gym and hopefully be able to win it just by having power from a way higher level. Splash is currently level 13 on route 2 so far.
UPDATE: Finally got Splash to level 14. I'm going to research cheren's pokemon levels for when I face him in the school now. Going to make sure I have a really good level advantage before facing him.
UPDATE: I faced Cheren with only Splash at level 14. I used tackle against his snivy which put it down to orange. Snivy used Vine Whip which cut my HP in half. I began to get worried, but when I chose tackle again Splash did a critical and knocked Snivy out. How lucky is that? Then I faced his purrloin. His purrloin did damage too, putting Splash in the red zone. Splash criticaled his purrloin, OHKO'ing it before Splash could be defeated and I won. Splash did two criticals in a row, that was amazing and I'm very proud of him. Going back to route 2 to make him level 15, and then maybe challenge the striaton gym.
UPDATE: Splash finally became level 15 after facing and defeating countless pokemon on route 2. I decided I'm going to spend a really long time just getting him to level 17 so he becomes a dewott. Then I'll be sure to defeat the gym. Time to start by getting him to level 16 first.
UPDATE: After what felt like ages Splash became level 16. Now I just need to level him up once more which will be even harder.
UPDATE: After what felt like even longer than getting to 16 Splash leveled up to 17, learned razor shell, and evolved into a Dewott! Striaton Gym, here I come!
UPDATE: So I swept the first two trainers with razor shell, taking no damage at all. Then I faced Cilan and defeated his Lillipup with a quick, critical razor shell. He sent out Pansage. I used tackle taking him to 3/4 health, STILL in the green zone while his pansage used work up. Then I decided to do a boost of my own and chose Focus Energy. - Insert picture of goku turning into super sayan -. He used Vine Whip which cut Splash's hp in half, still in the green though. I used tackle which wasn't critical even though I used Focus Energy, leaving his Pansage at orange HP. Before I could finish Pansage he used a potion bringing Pansage back to full health. Then I used tackle again, still only leaving him in the green zone again. His pansage used Vine Whip sending Splash down to 14 health. I closed my eyes as his Pansage was about to attack again, but before his Pansage could do anything, Splash ninja speeded at him with one last tackle, landing a critical and defeating Pansage, winning the match. I cheered in joy since I thought I would have to start the challenge all over again. Planning to head to the place I couldn't get to before, and then the dreamyard.
UPDATE: I finished up on Route 2 and went to the dreamyard, easily defeating the Team Plasma Grunt's pokemon. Then I tried to catch the first pokemon I saw in the dreamyard area grass, which was a level 8 patrat. I accidentally OHKO'ed it though with Splash's weakest move. Splash turned to level 18 instead and now I'm on my way to fennel's house.
UPDATE: Unfortunately on route 3 I couldn't get past the twins without having two pokemon, so I had to borrow Pansear (Sear) as a zombie pokemon and then release it back to its grave after the battle. Now I'm going to continue on route 3.
UPDATE: Cheren caught up with me and challenge me to a battle. He sent out Snivy first which fell to a couple of cuts by Splash, cutting plants like its intended purpose. Then he sent out Purrloin and I OHKO'ed it once again with a razor shell this time. Some Team Plasma grunts shoved us out of the way and we heard a pokemon was stolen. Now I'm going to teach the grunts the true meaning of using force.
UPDATE: Before I could get to the caves. the first and only pokemon I could catch on route 3, a level 9 Purrloin, jumped in front of me. Luckily, Splash's cut left it at exactly 1 HP and I caught it, naming it Luxury. Now I'm going to start training it on route 3, and then continue to the caves by the time it's level 12.
UPDATE: Luxury faced off against a Purrloin of the same level and went into a scratch fight with it. Luxury lost when the opposing Purrloin only had 1 HP left, so I released Luxury (ARGHHHH). Splash came in and avenged Luxury by finishing the opposing Purrloin off with a quick razor shell. Now I'm continuing to the caves.
UPDATE: Cheren and I defeated the four Plasma grunts easily and then Cheren went and returned the stolen pokemon. I captured the first pokemon I saw in Wellspring Cave, which was a level 13 Roggenrola. It wasn't like the other pokemon I tried to catch, it was strong enough to reduce Splash's HP by 2/3 before I could catch it by using Headbutt and Sand-attack. I decided to use my only ultra ball I found earlier so I wouldn't fail, and I caught it. Now I'm going to start training it on the way to Nacrene City and then I'll be ready for the gym battle.
UPDATE: I blasted through the rest of route 3 with Rocky's rock blast, and then I explored Nacrene for a little bit. Then I challenged N and beat his Pidove with Rocky, then switching to Splash to defeat his Tympole and Timburr. I noticed that instead of having to use a fighting type pokemon against Lenora that all the guides and stuff suggest, I could use Rocky first who resists normal type moves. Then, when he gets low on health, I could finish Lenora off with Splash. But I'm going to detour to Pinwheel Forest Road first anyway just to level buff Rocky and Splash (And maybe catch a fighting type anyway).
UPDATE: When I first entered the road a person gave me Rock Smash which I taught Rocky how to use. Rock Smash used to be a rock type move I heard, but now since it's a fighting type move Rocky can use it against the normal type gym while still being a rock type to resist normal type moves. I continue to venture through the road.
UPDATE: I finished defeating everyone in the entrance road and decided not to catch another pokemon at all. Both Rocky and Splash are one level above each of Lenora's two pokemon, from bottom to top. Nacrene City Gym, here I come!
UPDATE: I made it through the trainers with Rocky and Splash, and then faced off against Lenora. First I sent out Rocky who defeated her Herdier with a couple of Rock Smashes. Then I switched to Dewott who took the retaliate blow from her Watchog, crippling him to 11 HP in the red zone. I began to close my eyes again like last time, but once again Splash ninja speeded into Watchog with a critical razor shell, defeating it and winning the match. As I was about to celebrate completeing 1/4 of the gyms Team Plasma stole part of a fossil! I'm going to head to Pinwheel Forest now and team up with Burgh to get it back.
UPDATE: I defeated everyone in the forest and successfully returned the dragon skull to Lenora. Then I defeated everyone else in the forest and went across the Sky Bridge. I entered Castelia and healed at the center. Splash and Rocky improved considerly during that time and I'm looking forward to doing everything I can in Castelia City before facing the gym.
UPDATE: I decided that's enough for today. If anyone's interested in how I came this far, just read the above updates. I might decide to play later, but I'm going to switch to watching baseball and playing AC:NL for awhile. See ya!
