So when you speak to a villager or character in new horizons a theme plays, these theme is the same as the beginning of the route 1 theme from pokemon diamond Pearl and platinum, seriously, test them both side by side, it's quite interesting

It uses your island's tune, which you can change to whatever you want by talking to Isabelle. I don't remember what the default is, but I don't think it was that.
Are you sure that isn't what you set your island tune to?
