Anyone here still play the game "naturally"?

Yeah, I just play naturally now. I managed to have Marshal move in randomly but he moved into a spot that I just got a previous villager out of... lol

I've never time travelled in my current town either.

Ohhhh I can't even think of playing naturally in Bevelle! I have put sooo much effort into my paths and hybrids that it would be awful if they got destroyed... also, having plot reset plenty I have seen how blooming awful some of the plots would look in my town :(

But I do have access to three natural towns and it's always quite liberating to visit them... maybe when I set up Archades properly (it's currently a cycling town) I might just try and keep it natural :)

The idea of naturally always leaves me with questions..Like let's say you are still in early phase did all you could do in an hour or two..have a day off to relax and are behind IRL date just moving to next day is not really cheating, is it, if your trying to catch back up anyway?

I don't really understand your question. Do you mean what 'natural' players do when they're done with the stuff you can do during the day? I either go play another game, or plan out paths (considering we're early in the game like you said) or work on landscaping. I could also go to the island and do some tours, gather flowers and arrange them and those sorts of things. I never really felt like time traveling in such situations, and honestly I'm quite happy when I'm done with my ACNL chores on a day so I can make some progress in other games I'm playing. I still enjoy playing New Leaf though, don't get me wrong.

I likely would do it day by day as I have other towns too but I started on new year but it was IRL feb 1 not Jan 1 so until I catch up I see no harm scooting ahead, I guess that was the question..not getting ahead but if you were a little behind IRL I don't like skipping any days it's a pet peeve with me. I had a hard time when I moved my starter original town ahead closer to IRL after falling really behind, I almost wish I hadn't so I'd rather try to catch up fast this month and the go day by day. I guess that's what I meant, not going ahead of IRL days I've never had that issue I'm usually a little behind, life you know :).

I do feel bad due to a rough and busy jan I was too late to join the 1 year challenge group though that would've been fun to have a group play type thing, oh well...

I'm slightly against time traveling, but I can understand that you want to catch up - especially because it was for the sake of participating in the one year challenge. When I miss a day or so I don't time travel back to catch up, though that's mainly because I usually don't have enough time during the week to play through multiple times and I don't feel the need to catch up on that day.

After I reset my town, I have slowed down my pace. However I still plan on making it at least a bit pretty.

eh well .. semicasually i guess? haha i do time travel especially when i need upgrades and now i have my dreamies for now but i did tt to move em out

i dont care about perfect town or landscape other than like flowers.. so

I play pretty naturally, like to keep some villagers in town but I won't go to great lengths to make sure they stay if I've been careless !

Yes, I've always played that way. I didn't even know about resetting or anything like that before I joined here, even when I found out, I'm too lazy to do any of that so my towns pretty disorganized

I found the game more stressful when I didn't TT, plot reset, pick my villagers, etc. Honestly my gameplay experience improved a LOT once I discovered AC communities and realized there was a lot I could be doing to make my town the way I wanted

I have no choice but to use the TT to catch up method. My town is currently in September 2014 since I play so rarely anymore. Today has been the first time I'm thinking about playing it for the first time in months to do more then clear out streetpasses.

And if I don't know if that's brag worthy since I don't have the money for a new game, I'm basically done with pokemon x, in the home stretch of omega Ruby, and its about 2.5 weeks till Pokemon red comes out.

I still TT, but I've never plot reset. Looking into it though as I've just restarted my town and it's gonna be really path-heavy this time around...hmm...
