By that I mean do you choose a character based on their ranking in a tier list. I found this tier list results image showing who is ranked what. Personally, I hate tiers. I will play as a character I like for both fun and competitive use. I see people do really good as lower ranked characters all the time.

I still don't think that the tier list is anywhere near completion, but yeah they're definitely important.
I would honestly suggest newer players who are serious about getting better at smash bros pick really low tier characters like Doc because he isn't super campy or gimmicky and he really forces you to think about the way you and your opponent are playing a whole lot more than just picking diddy and dthrow upairing........

I care about them, but I always end up maining a high tier, a mid teir, and a bunch of low tiers, before a tier list exists.

I really don't care, it's more how people play the characters. Yet people always bean on me (in real life) for secondary maining low tiers (Ganon and Charizard) and maining high tiers (Fox, Mario, and Marth). The tier list is more of a guide than anything.

I main/secondary atleast on out of every tier

S: RosaLuma (2)
A: Yoshi (1)
B+: Villager (1) Fox (2)
B: Pit (1)
B-: Toon link (1) Lucina (1)
C: MK (2) Dr. Mario (1)
D: Mii gunner (with friends)

I also enjoy playing as

Pac-man
Palutena
Luigi
Mario
Shulk
Bowser
Bowser JR
DDD
lil' mac
Kirby

Mac is B-? I've been too many Little Mac's these days so that's a real shocker.

As some people say: Tiers are for queers

Tiers are only relevant for noob's because they can see which characters are easier to use, (Imo) they mean next to nothing to everyone else. Every character has the potential to be good, it's based on the skills of the players that determines how good the character they're using is.

The one at EventHubs (click here) literally makes me cringe. Why are Luigi and Wii Fit Trainer so low. It just get's worse when you go into character matchups. How would BOWSER win against WII FIT TRAINER. Bowser is the type of characters WFT just has a field day with. Huge frame to combo, only projectile being his fire breath, can keep distance with her/his own projectiles, just so many things in WFT's favor. I also feel like Zelda is definitely buffed from Brawl, and she should be a bit better. Not A or S, but maybe mid or low B?

I just saw this comment from the website and what even.
EventHubs said:
Bad:
Zelda - I haven't really tried her, but some things I heard is that she just have bad moves and one of the worst recovery in the game.
Wii Fit Trainer - Same with Zelda, but no range.
Pretty sure this guy has never played as or against Wii Fit Trainer... Do u even dodgeball the soccer balls?

I actually never see people play as Diddy Kong, Sheik, Rosalina, or Sonic in 1v1 For Glory.

No, quite frankly, I don't give a single ****. I only play as Peach no matter what Tier she's in. It's been that way ever since I got Melee as a kid. :$

I think I'm rather good with her and I can't really do much with those in the higher tier categories. All about the skill of the player, not the characters themselves, imo.

silly Hyogo
tiers r 4 queers
not
*puts on poncy accent*
Tiers are for queers

I didn't even know there were tiers oops
I mainly use Rosalina. Villager and {dark} Pit

You sure? Pretty much every 3rd match has a Diddy Kong in it. The rest are pretty rare to find.

Yup. I have never fought a Diddy Kong in 1v1 before. I've had this game for about 3 weeks isn't as long as other people here. However, I have played over a couple hundred matches on For Glory 1v1 and have never encountered a Diddy Kong. I fought I think my first or second Sheik just yesterday.

No, I don't. Though I main Yoshi and Pikachu, both being A-tier and some of the best of the best, I also main Charizard and Bowser- the latter easily being my best character, considering that the time I used him to unlock Ganondorf was the only time I didn't struggle to unlock a character. As far as I'm concerned, if you can use a character efficiently, then you should use them to the best you can, no matter what others may say about them.

Most tier lists are based on nothing but 1v1 matches, so certain characters are more useful on 1v1 than in the other modes. For example, Ganondorf may rank low on a tier list due of his difficulty to play well in a 1v1 tournament, but he still does a great job on getting the farthest on Home-Run Contest. Basically, the lower tier said character is in, the more likely they are in a difficult match. And that's not even taking into account on how difficult is to master whatever character on the list.

If you've seen many tier lists that are already available, some characters are consistently rank among the highest tiers, while the others are consistently considered as terrible. Diddy Kong, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, Rosalina, Sonic, Pikachu, Yoshi and Ness seems to be consistently ranking high.

So, I only rely on tiers when I'm doing a 1v1 match.

I don't really care about tier lists, but one of my secondarys (Rosalina) is an S-tier character. Then my mains (Shulk and Link) are in the B+ and B-tiers respectively. I suppose that is good?
