question 1: regular
question 2: no! (lowest)
and i think that was it lol. i got it like on the sixth try. my other friend got it on like the 123 time lol

You can only do it in your town's fountain I tried my friends town's fountain and you cant even throw the axe in.

no offense, the silver axe is easy... all you have to do is goto your city a 8pm sharp and go all the way to the right on the lowest sidewalk to run into resetti... he'll give you a silver axe just to make you go away faster. XD

Um no that' a silver shovel. Gold/Silver Axe is throw a regular axe in the fountain, then the fountain will ask you what type of axe you thew in, choose regualr and it will reward your honesty with a gold or silver axe.
