Anyone else's villagers do this...

So I have a jukebox and microphone set up in front of my plaza, yeah? But everytime I catch a villager singing, whenever i come near, they just... Stop. They stop, bring out their net or fishing pole, and just walk away.

Do they?? just not like me??? Are they shy??? I just want to play the guitar near the mic near them and jam out together;;;;;;

I think it depends on the villager (maybe by personality?) When I walk up to Julian or Savannah singing, they're happy to keep seeing. But Nibbles walked away when I came over and Pancetti literally side eyed me, then walked off and sat under a tree like 5 feet away.

That's just conjecture though, I suppose it could also be random ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Katt is my island's everyday singer and she'll turn to look at me but she doesn't stop singing....nothin' stops that girl from singing.

In my town, Lolly is singing at least once a day, and she does so anywhere in the town. Just wherever I happen to find her. She only stops if a bug gets close. She'll watch it and then return to singing.

I think villagers can have 'traits' attached to them. Puddles, before she moved out, would sing frequently and would actually stop singing if I lingered around for too long. She was clearly getting shy and would stop due to it. After a while, Zucker started doing it with her and she'd continue singing for longer periods of time.

I've tried clapping and it seems to encourage them. Don't know if it's actually doing anything or what, but can't hurt to try it.

Yes, me too! One seemed to be getting shy and I clapped to encourage her and she kept singing. Although, this doesn't always work with Savannah, as she will stop singing to mirror back whatever emote I am doing at her
