Anyone else with this problem?

My 3DS camera works and takes pictures just fine in the camera app. But this has been happening for a while. When the camera screen shows up in New Leaf it's all green and black static.
I had another copy of New Leaf and this problem started with my old copy. The camera worked great for a long time with the QR reader then all of a sudden it stopped working.

Has anyone else had this problem and possibly had it fixed?

Call nintendo customer service. I had to once because I bought my 3ds used and I wasn't able to use it because of some parental control settings. I've never had this issue with the camera, but contacting them might help.

It sounds silly, but it helped me, so maybe it'll help you figure something out about why this happens to your camera? Or how you can fix it?

It sounds like your camera is going bad. When I switched 3DS's mine did the same thing and I had to eventually send the new one in to Nintendo for repair. Everything worked great once it came back.

Thank you both for the input! I was planning on getting the new 3DS once it comes out so hopefully the problem won't come back. But I could probably call Nintendo sometime over the weekend.

I take really good care of my 3DS so I just didn't know why the camera would all of a sudden stop working only in New Leaf :/

And I'll add that I got the DS in 2011 so maybe it is just going bad :/
