Anyone else still wondering what they'll do with the lab in the museum?

I'm talking about the laboratorium area in the bug section! I'm still waiting for an update that will utilize it, I hope it isn't just there for the looks lol.

What do you guys think?

There are bugs there. The fly, mosquito, flea and paper kite butterfly. I don't think it will have any other purpose than to be a home to those 4 bugs. My museum is 100% complete if you want to check it out. My DA is in my signature.

Yeah, I know that! I was just thinking there'd be some gameplay as well eventually, seems like a pretty big area for just a few bugs. But I guess.. maybe not? :p You don't seem to think so haha

I think it's just a creative way to display those bugs. I can't imagine what other purpose it could have.

I'd love for it to be made into something else gameplay wise but I don't know if it would happen! I can't imagine what they would put into there (are there any special characters I'm forgetting about that might have their office/workplace there??)

Yeah I agree that it's probably just a creative way to display bugs, the whole museum seems to be going for a more realistic aesthetic with displays that serve a 'purpose'

I guess they will just let it remain as a part of the overall design of the section, without any functions whatsoever. Although it kinda looks like a area where you could play a bug themed mini game, if there would have been one (now that I think about it, museum mini games would have been a funny idea).

I've never thought about what it could possibly be, but it would be cool to have... say Flick visit every once and a while, have him mention how he helps Blathers since the owl is so afraid of bugs... Something. lol

They could bring Nat back. He already has his picture in the lab. Even if it is just for a special event and not permanent.

Ok completely unrelated but imagine Nintendo introduced a minigame in which you have to catch some bugs that escaped to other exhibits of the museum?

It's a nursery for hatching butterflies. I don't think it will ever serve a purpose other than that. If you go to zoos, aquariums, butterfly houses, reptile houses, etc...they usually have areas like that, which are visible to the public...so you can see some of the creatures in the incubation period. I thought it was neat that Nintendo put it in there...but, I definitely don't expect them to "do" anything more with it.

I can't see nintendo giving it any kind of purpose other than bug display but I think it'd be adorable if they did!!

I don’t see it being turned into anything else aside from how it is now. I think it’d be cool if they introduced a mini game or let us get some more facts by examining the data base of the bugs we’ve collected (though I probably wouldn’t use it since bugs absolutely disgust me. if it was for the fish, then I’d like it). Or maybe allow us to adjust the bug model sizes or their appearances, or make other furniture (like paintings of the butterflies). Idk.

I would love some of the furniture that is in the lab to be introduced as orderable furniture :).

I personally don’t want it to develop into something else. I love going to museums & I used to volunteer as a guide for a science one and we had set ups just like ACNH where the kids can see the scientists do “real” science stuff. It added a bit of extra realism to museum imo and turning it into a mini game or another exhibit takes that away

I have always thought that Flick goes there to make his bug models. That would also explain why Nat's
picture is there since he's Flick's dad. @Dunquixote I agree. There's always room for more lab furniture.

That is intriguing of what else they will do to the lab. I always thought it was okay empty. Maybe it should show blathers inside there sometimes. lol

I just assumed it was there for aesthetics. I never thought Nintendo would do anything with it, but it wouldn't hurt if they added some kind of mini game there, I guess.

If any area made me think some update would be added later, it was the area with a diver suit. At first I thought K.K. would be singing there (before he came to my island and villagers kept passing rumors about him coming, I thought K.k. and Brewster would be added there ala Wild World) thankfully that wasn't the case, though I'm still holding out for a future Brewster update.

Yeah, I thought the driver suit was interesting as well! I thought it would be a stage lol.

I kinda still hope that K.K. will perform in the Roost if we ever get that, I feel like his placement right in front of the town hall entrance is just kinda.. awkward? haha. I liked how he was in the café, it was just so chill.
