The original, for PC. Man, that stuff was my jam in '08. Just got it working on my computer again (I had the white boxes of death error and had to do a complete wipe and reinstall) and I couldn't be happier. surprisingly, it's really not a bad game. outdated as hell, but still charming and enjoyable.

I bought Spore off origin recently and I got the courage to befriend the Grox last year. Those guys scare the chit outta me!

lol i have the ds one and the other ds one which is more 3d and more terrible XD

I remember playing Spore back on launch. They promised much more than what they would end up delivering so it'll always be a disappointment to me. It got fairly repetitive once you reached the last stage anyway. Always hoped they would make a sequel and do it right but with Maxis now gone I doubt it'll ever see the light of day. Oh well. :/

When I downloaded Galactic Adventures I was very disappointed and letdown when I realized it was just building movie sets and putting on space gadgets. It's wasn't anything amazing or new to me despite the first time actually seeing and playing it. I absolutely LOVED the Creepy & Cute expansion pack but again there wasn't much to it and very little creativity to it. Once again my excitement was sizzled down to nothing. I think someone needs to remake the game SPORE with a 2nd installment. If it's done now it will be the best yet to come!

i've only played it for a few hours at a friend's place, but i wish it hadn't been as hyped as it was, since it's a pretty fun game if played on its own - nothing mindbendingly good, but still decent fun. i was also kinda interested in darkspore, but that game seemed to die faster than the hype sunk for spore.

Yeah I used to have the DS version way back. It was fun at first but it kinda spiraled downwards when it came to fighting stuff so I gave up on it. I kinda wanted to try the PC version but meh I don't know doesn't look as appealing anyways.

I agree, Spore was full of wasted potential, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The idea of creating your own creatures, vehicles and spaceships and running into them in a massive world as you explore was an awesome concept.

I love Galactic Adventures, but maybe that's just because I like that sort of sandbox gameplay. However, I have one MAJOR bone to pick with it: the ranking. There are twelve Maxis-created missions that earn you 100 points towards your rank and are only playable once, but playing your own missions only earns you five points. to actually earn any more points, you have to download other people's missions off of the Spore website, which is all but dead by now. that was a huge disappointment.

Personally, the DS spores and Spore Hero for the Wii were huge letdowns compared to the original spore. Spore's not an amazing game, I'll admit, but It's only $20 on origin and probably less on ebay (got the Galactic Adventures expansion pack off of there for $6) so I would give it a try.

O yes, they must have been considering how half-ass lazy the game was overall. I mean sure I liked to make your own creatures and go around doing stuff but the fighting and controls were so badly done, at least on the DS version, I don't know about the Wii though.

Shame they had to shove it up Origin's ass, but maybe I will try it then :3

I had this on PC, haven't played in years though. I enjoyed the creature creation but I wasn't really that into the actual game.

AHHHH NOSTALGIA

I loved Spore. That was like my favorite game when we got it, and I still have downloaded on my computer :> I had the Creepy and Cute Pack but unfortunately my game stopped recognizing it anymore and it wouldn't work again, no matter how many times I reinstalled it. That was kind of a bummer, since I had some nice creations that I accidentally deleted while trying to fix it. Oh well, I guess I don't really play it that much anymore anyways.

I remember Spore being SUCH a big deal among my group of friends when it first came out. Everyone was scrambling to buy it for some reason. I also vaguely remember something about malware or adware... some scandal or other. I didn't have a computer that could run it at the time, so I forgot about it.

Thanks for bringing it up again, I think I'll have to give it a try now that I actually can :P

ahhh, yes. I remember Spore - brings back memories.

I would agree as well - much wasted potential.

I had this on PC, but I liked the creature creation but wasn't into the actual game. It was interesting at the start (though slow), then it was downhill from there.

I played Spore rather briefly but it seemed fun enough a game. I especially enjoyed the memes like when people made creatures that spelled out stuff XD

I used to have the ds version, I started playing at like the middle of the game on my sister's save file lol.

I remember wanting Spore so bad. I never actually got the game because at the time, my computer was working slowly. I don't think I'll ever buy it either. It looks like a fun game but it's not really my cup of tea anymore.

Lol, i play spore on occasion, the ocean part goes really slowly but after that... all the dancing :D
