Anyone else noticed gold nuggets are rare as rocking horse ....

It's all the same to me. I've had a hard time finding golden nuggets before the last update.

Is the rocking horse rare?

edit: oh nvm, just realized it's an idiom lol.

I am still getting them pretty regularly. They usually fall out of a blue balloon once a day

It's felt quite difficult to get them ill admit, but I also started actively looking for them more recently so that may be why im noticing exactly how rare they can be.

I don't stumble upon them too often, but I also rarely use them. I also don't hit my rocks or shoot down balloons on a regular basis.

I think I may have found 1 or 2 out of smashing rocks in total. I’ve had the game for a couple weeks and hit the rocks every day (also have TT’d a couple days here and there) apart from that I got lucky with the island tours and landed at the gold rock/scorpion nightmare place. But I sold all 8 or 9 of those before I realised that gold tools may need gold 😒

I don't get them often, but I rarely even hit my rocks these days.
Last time I hit my rocks I did get a gold nugget.

I also was like... I had the rocking horse DIY for a while. I never heard the idiom before.

i don't know if the spawn rates have gone down, but i've always struggled to collect them. i don't really use them very often though, so it's not a problem!

Yes I have a vey difficult time finding them. I may get one a week hitting my 5 rocks daily.

I actually borrowed my brother's switch for a temporary second island recently, and no, in the span of a couple hours I got 10 gold nuggets.

I got 2 gold nuggets from 1 rock twice, and it felt like I got one almost every time I hit a gotdamn rock. it was wild. since I don't hit rocks anymore on my main switch I can't vouch for that but still
but also dupers are making them worth dirt now, you can get hundreds of them from Nookazon for the low low price of a rocking horse

Maybe you shouldn't have used the word "Rocking Horse" as there are people (Especially me) that fell for the mistaken idiom you input.

I still find gold, just not as often as I used to.

Perhaps Nintendo saw that the encounter table for rare things were too high and lowered their appearances as they were intended to.

I actually thought they'd increased the drop rate since 1.2. I have gotten way more gold ore recently, especially on islands. Last night I got two from the same rock. (I almost immediately got ganked by a scorpion naturally.)

The companion guide mentions there is only a 1% chance to get gold ore from rocks. Both on your island and on mystery islands. I can't say if it has been changed since then though.

I haven't noticed a difference. They've always been rare. Unless you get the gold nugget mystery island, where you're guaranteed to get 8 gold nuggets from the rock, the spawn rate is only 1% chance. It doesn't matter if it's your island or a (non-gold nugget island) mystery island.
