Anyone else have plans to reset once the update drops?

i'm considering resetting lumatown, but not really for the update. that town's an absolute mess for various reasons, one of the main ones being that i made the oh-so-smart decision to create all four of my player characters before moving the villagers i want in, meaning that i wasn't able to plot reset. which naturally had some pretty disastrous results.

still, the update could make it easier to get the villagers i want, so maybe i will reset lumatown once we get it. though of course if i do decide to use amiibo cards to help me get villagers i'd have to end up dropping at least ?25 for the nfc reader + some card packs/individual cards.

Yeah, I've already price checked the cards I'd need on eBay to have all my villagers, and it ended up being roughly $10. It'll be more now that I decided to add in Lucky and Ankha, though.

I have a NFC reader that quickly became useless once my hubby surprised me with the HHD N3DS; now it's just collecting dust. I wish I could just give it away.

I'm strongly considering it. I have two games currently and now that I have a third 3DS (one is a 2DS but same diff) I've been meaning together a 3rd copy anyway. Really, I could reset both my towns and lose nothing of value to me so long as I stagger resets to store items elsewhere. I'm attached in a way - obviously, since I've never reset before! - but I could live quite happily with different town maps and starting the collecting and badges again from scratch (which I wouldn't be anyway).

I could rename my towns. TreeTown and Clown.. I hated Clown as soon as I'd saved but was too keen to play to bother resetting. Maybe this time I'll have enough patience to get those important details sorted BEFORE I get too invested in the town..



Depending on exactly what the update brings, maybe I'll go nuts and come up with a cool idea for a theme I want to actually put time and effort into creating. I've always wanted to do a themed town, I admire the ones I see so much.

No way, I put way too much work into this town and I would be devastated if I lost it! But I may be more tempted to buy a second game to make a new second town.

Unlikely. I love my map, my villagers (most of them), my PWP placements, just everything ATM is what I've wanted in a ACNL town for 3 years. As it stands, I'll scan in the Biskit and Stitches amiibo cards, move out Frobert and Paula (starter villager with bad placement) then I'll be set! If the update adds any features that may put my town in a lacking position then I might just buy a second hard copy (my current copy is digital.)

I will not reset any of my six towns. Perfect or not, they are filled with my little pixelated friends and neighbors. While I would love to have the option of refurbishing their homes as in HHD, I don't know if this is an option of the update.

I'd like to but the town i have now is the one I've made the most progress on! I kinda wish I had a second copy of the game - kind of tried to persuade my sister into getting the game a while back and failed so idek.

nope..i do have a third copy that i'm not using atm, so i might use that town to experiment with the update

Precisely the reason I'm not selling my used NA copy, I want to see how this works, if I like it, and if I want to continue using it in my primary town, which of course would be the last updated, as my Japanese town would be updated after the used copy, then finally my primary one from launch, can't be too careful with a town I've been preserving for over 3 years!!

There's a new update coming this winter that will enable you to scan the animal crossing amiibo cards to get specific villagers in your town. There's also going to be a new area of some sort with villagers from older games living in trailers that you will be able to invite to your town.

When you say to get specific villagers in your town, do you mean like to make them move there? And I love the fact there will be a new area/map in addition to the town, village, and island! Thanks. I don't have to purchase a new game right for this update? I'm sorry for the silly questions lol

Noooo. And I won't even get any new villagers unless they allow you to have more than 10. I have had my town for almost 3 years and I'm not going to abandon it for some update lol.

I have my town since the game were launch and in a moment it was a complete mess, but know there are a lot off effort because i fix it, i get my 10 dreamies and im not getting rid of any of em, so i am not planning to reset my town, i think that could be a mistake.

I really hope the update works with the people that accomplished everything and people that doesn't, that's why I don't expecting a big update or a small one, just expecting an update. In other way... I really want to buy that cards, maybe items of HHD can been unlock in the game, i mean... Nintendo is even changing the box-art.

I'm making evacuations of one of my towns right now and plan to reset one of them. I have a few town theme ideas and with the potential for chosing villagers via amiibo?! I plan to reset when the update is released - after we know more.
