Anyone Else Afraid of Bugs For No Reason??

In my experience, trying to fill up the index with insects gets more difficult the more afraid of insects you are, and I am petrified. I was wondering if I'm the only one who jumps when a bug flies off a tree or scurries on the ground?

Ah I personally actually really like insects (minus roaches) so I don't get scared by them.
The only ones that are somewhat "scary" aren't even insects.
It's the arachnids that can be a pain, but that's just because they can knock you out haha.

Actually the reason why I'm posting this, is because last night I saw a tarantula and I freaked out. And now I'm trying to catch one to get it out of my way so I don't have to freak out about catching one anymore. Annd! As I was searching a scared a beetle off a tree, and I guess I unintentionally scared myself?

Regardless, bugs terrify me. I actually freak out with most insects in the game (though I am numb to the beetles on the island now. I just think they're cool. But they -did- scare me). I feel like a giant chicken!

The tarantulas freak me out. I hate spiders and I really do not like the fact that those critters run around in my town. Personally... if I lived there I'd probably call an exterminator. xD

I know right!?
They're so creepy! I really just want to catch one so I don't have to wait to be scared by one again, ya know? PLUS! Then it'll be in my encyclopedia, and I'll be free of the burden of it.

The fact still stands that bugs are scary as heck and even pixelated bugs scare to pants off me.

Not at all! I mean I can stomach beetles of all types in the game and all butterflies and dragonflies, but anything that runs on the ground is my mortal enemy. My nemesis, if you will.

I'm fine with most of them except for the bees, tarantula and scorpions! Though I'm not really scared of them, they just give me anxiety when I see them. Once I catch them I'm going to fill up my town as much as possible so they have less of a chance to spawn in my town! They definitely don't match my town's 'cute' theme lol

Omg I totally agree! The way I see it, as soon as I get the tarantula (never seen a scorpion tho!), my town will get a flower treatment. Like flowers EVERYWHERE. I'm already half way there lol!

But yeah! I'm sure if I saw a scorpion I would die too.

I am kind of nervous about catching the tarantula and the scorpion, and the house centipede for that matter (centipedes really squick me out. Been trying to find one since June started with no luck.) I'm usually ok with the bugs but sometimes one of the big beetles will just give me the shivers unexpectedly and I have to kind of look away until it's safely in my bag.

I haven't seen a tarantula or scorpion yet, so I'm not sure about those.
But for the others, they don't bother me. I just hate bugs in real life. I much prefer the digital version.

I like bugs for the most part, unless they're on me, or in my house, so they don't bother me. If you're someone that's really afraid of bugs in real life, try using bug catching in New Leaf to desensitize you to it Sneak up on all the bugs you wanna catch and just go for it.

Yes I was afraid of the tarantula in the beginning. Yelled what am I suppose to do and ran the other way. It took me out.
After I figured out how to catch them they don't bug me anymore. Walking slow around town at night time doesn't freak them out.
The mayor ran over a scorpion one night while running to the train station. It freaked out and disappeared into the event tile.

I like trying to out run them. I've made into city hall and to the beach ramp. Wished I had a video.

I am terrified of insects in real life so seeing them in game makes me uneasy. It doesn't help that I'm allergic to bug bites as well so I dislike summer the most since they're everywhere welp. The cicadas drive me nuts so I'm not looking forward to hearing those dreadful things again. I can deal with butterflies, dragonflies, and honeybees but everything else can get out for all I care. Whenever I visit the island for bug catching or earning medals, I lower the volume. I really can't stand the sound they make when they fly away. Even when I visit the bug section in the museum, I keep the volume off. D:

I'll take fishing anytime. =v=

like arcane said the only ones i freak out about is the Scorpion and Tarantulas cause they actually cause your character to "faint/die"

I'm usually fine with the insects, but the other day I saw a huuuge spider or a tarantula or whatever. It was HUGE and started chasing me, I almost got a heart attack xD Kinda scared to wander in the night time now in my town
