Anyone else about to give in to Time Traveling, or have you kept your TT'ing promises?

Have you kept your time traveling plans in New Horizons?

I couldn't help it...my island was filling up with more villagers I didn't want than more villagers I wanted. Not to mention if you want to go island hopping for villagers you're pretty much going to have to TT someone out unless you're ok waiting forever for the 'right' villager to ping you.

What does it matter? It's your game, you paid money for it, do whatever you like with it. As long as the player's having fun and that fun isn't negatively affecting others, then it's valid, even if it's not what the developers intended. Frankly, people who have never messed with their games in some capacity are missing out on some great fun.

Not that I time travel myself. Kinda tedious, really. I did it once with my wife to engage in turnip shenanigans and we got bored of the back-and-forth pretty quickly.

I am a convenience TTer. If I have to scream internally inside like creating the rock garden ✅, moving villagers houses✅ and wanting gullivaar items✅, I will time travel, lol.

I TT to hold a day or event longer. Sometimes in life, something urgent comes up, or I have a mograine or something along those lines. I just keep setting the clock to near the beginning of the same day so that I do not miss it. That allows me to sit down and fully enjoy my time.

I didn't want to TT when I first got New Horizons, and so far I've stayed true to that and haven't TT'd. I do think it helps extend the longevity of the game for me, since otherwise I probably would've gotten all the bugs/fish/sea creatures/seasonal DIYs by now and most, if not all, of the achievements and would've stopped playing, lol. I have no problem with those that do TT, though. It's your copy of the game, do with it as you wish.

i time travel constantly, and usually im never playing in real time! weeks, months into the future :b

i knew id TT, its just how i play animal crossing, keeps me playing MUCH longer than if i played naturally/in real time.

I planned not to when I got the game, no judgement on time travelling, just thought the concept of playing in real time would be enough. However about one month in I got impatient and started one day at a time. I don’t do it for seasonal items just really to move houses, build inclines etc. as I like it still being the appropriate season.
I did start playing in July thought so I missed out on a lot of spring content so travelling backwards is something I am considering...

Not really sure what the option "Sometimes I time travel, sometimes I don't" means?
I don't TT every day and haven't TTed into another season or something but I do TT to advance construction or moving projects. I planned not to restrict myself as TTing has always been a feature that I enjoyed using in past games.

I was desperate for Celeste materials, so I decided to TT in NH to get most of them, no regrets.
Although this made me want to use TT a bit more now.

I am SERIOUSLY considering it. I time traveled once in ACNL in the three straight years I played. But ACNH has pushed me to a whole new level of frustration with the same recipes, the same items in Nooks Cranny and the flower breeding difficulties.

Nope I knew I was gonna TT as I did in New Leaf I didn't want to wait for buildings and bridges to be built and so on. But now having New Horizons my job now has long hours so to TT it helps catch up on everything I have missed. for example I haven't played NH since Sunday last week and it is now Saturday so nearly a week has past. when I have a day off I will catch up one the days I have missed and play for the whole day haha

I've never been a traveler in any of the games, so I honestly didn't consider it this time around. I like the slow pace of AC because I can do things when I want.

Because of the opposite hemispheres and the internet being what it is, I have a good idea of what's coming for the autumn/winter seasons, but I'm content to wait and get things in the proper time for my game. The plus side to that is that I already have ideas on where certain items will fit my island and I've been able to craft the settings.

I've time traveled in previous games, and I made a vow not to time travel anymore, but I technically have time traveled in NH. Once. I wanted the bedhead hair for my character so I went forward a month to unlock it then promptly went back. I'm not entirely sure if that counts since it didn't become a habit, but there you go.

Swore I would’ve and actually have had no desire to. But I also have np with people who do. My feeling your game lay your way.

Has anyone TT'd in NH when you originally vowed not to TT?

I never make promises. I also never make new year resolutions.

Playing Wild World and New Leaf, I did not tt until I had played a year of the game. I didn't feel like I missed anything by not tt-ing, so it didn't cross my mind to tt.

Now that I'm older, I have way less patience. I think I'm living my life backwards.

I also think a game is most enjoyable when you're playing it in whatever way that gives you the most joy, so to tt or not to tt is no longer a question. In New Horizons, I first tt-ed to use the campsite method to get a certain office cat. The method is soul-sappingly tedious, but it worked. After that, I decided I would tt to make things happen more quickly, so I mostly tt to move my residents out or to move new islanders in.

Up until a few weeks ago, I wanted to wait for autumn to collect mush furniture DIYs and craft them. I had not tt-ed outside of the current season of the game. Then an update gave us the ability to visit dream islands. And I saw, for the first time, how gorgeous the mush set is! It's one thing to see them as catalogue pictures and another thing to see them in the game. I was terribly, hopelessly smitten. A week later, I decided to tt to autumn. I collected enough materials and DIYs for decorating an area of my island that I had set aside for the mush set since the very beginning. It made me happy.

I don't think I need to tt outside of any season anymore. Winter items don't interest me.

Wow. Wall of text. As I like to say to excuse myself, the older I get, the longer it takes me to say anything at all. o_O:LOL:

I never explored time traveling for both New Leaf and New Horizons. I don't think that will ever change.

I only time travel to kick villagers out when planning to adopt from someone. Otherwise I don't time travel much. At the beginning of the game, I did travel to the next day just so a bridge or incline is move one space from it's position. Would just be great if you could relocate an inch without having to demolish and rebuild.

The only reason I time traveled in past games was to keep my flowers from dying and my neighbors from moving. Now that both of those things are non-issues, I don’t want to time travel in this game.

Ngl though, I’m bored with a lack of new content and am low key tempted to zoom straight into mushroom season. Not going to though. I’m going to take it day-by-day.

The plan was to go at least a full year or close to it without time traveling, but I ended up doing it two weeks after the game had been out. I reset my island and went back to 3/20 so I can catch whatever bugs and fish that would stop spawning in March. Shortly after that, I time traveled again to do the cherry blossom event a second time. By the time I moved forward with the game, I was two or three weeks behind.

Even if I didn't travel backwards when I reset my island, or do the cherry blossom event again, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have lasted a full year. Time traveling back and forth for Redd would have broken me, especially considering I really wanted to decorate my house/island with art.

I made it one month without time travelling and then I needed to move every single house and terraform a bunch.. it's just not fun to wait that long
