Any tips to get more PWP pings?

I recently started my second town and it just feels barren. I landscaped it and it's full of greenery but is just missing those neat PWPs that make the town that much better. My main town's list has to be 4 times as long as ,y second towns list but I've had that town since release.
Any tips/ideas to help increase my list? Thanks!

Have you tried that thing where you fill your inventory with flowers and go diving? Usually that wields a few pings, though it's not always guaranteed to be a project. D:

Step 1. Acquire a wetsuit from the island
Step 2. Fill your inventory with junk (flowers, fossils etc)
Step 3. Have NO money in your inventory
Step 4. Go in the ocean
Step 5. Swim to the edge of the map
Step 6. Wait for five minutes ( A timer helps)
Step 7. After 5 minutes go back to your town and go infront of your villagers
It's usually just a dumb question, or new catchphrase/greeting. Or you can get villager interactions (what I usually get) but I have recquired some very useful PWPs using this method

I tried this today.I sat in the ocean for an hour(you can do less though) and when I went back to my town I got a PWP ping.You might get pinged for other things first though as I did,but if you just keep running around your villagers you should eventually get a PWP ping.

These pings are all random, and I think your friendship levels with your villagers can also have an affect
