Currently Filbert is in a place where I do not want him to be!

Is there anyway to speed up him pinging me and saying he wants to move?

Is ignoring him better? Or is it better to be friendly with him and/or reject his help requests?

Either way can work really. There's not really a foolproof way but i've found being friendly to them makes them move out a little faster. It's very painful to do especially when you dislike a villager but in experience i've had villagers move out who i've been very friendly with the quickest. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think if you just ignore a villager - they can move out but I don't think they'll ping to move since you won't have talked with them in a while. I think if you reject their help requests it'll make them less likely to want to move because it makes you less friendly towards them. Overall, either way can work. The moving out process is completely random, but I've found more luck with getting specific villagers to move if i'm friendly with them.

Ahhh okay that is great! Thanks I'll continue being friendly I think!

i agree with being friendly! Ignoring the villager feels like your cheating yourself of part of the game even if you don't particularly like them, plus you get their picture for your catalogue!

Filbert is so cute. He was one of my original 5 villagers and I really came to love him.

Stay friendly, and if you want to speed the process up faster, Time Travel and/or just wait til you get 9 or 10 villagers which makes cycling them out easier (I wouldn't even start making plans for PWPs, paths, orchards, etc. until I had all my desired villagers, that way I can plan around them, even if they park themselves in a stupid spot). Every 4 days or so, a villager (usually those you're friends with) is supposed to ping you saying that they wish to move. The RNG is random, but the cycle will eventually fall onto Filbert.

I agree with others that it's best to stay friendly, especially since I've heard that if you've talked to the villager more than just saying hi while they move in, they won't leave until you befriend them.

theres actually a method i used a user here taught me and it worked great
1. go around for moving pings
2. if its a villager you wanna keep pings you, then deny and tt 6 days forward.
3. tt 6 days backwards again to present time
4. repeat step 1

do this until the desired villager you wanna boot pings you.
