Your hard work restoring The Bell Tree on April Fools' Day has paid off! A commemorative Shiny Ditto Easter Egg has now appeared in the Shop for 99 Bells.
I'm going to reset my village once I've got my dreamies moved out into my second town to hold. Is there any little tips anyone has for resetting? Like what the best town layout is and such?
The campsite. When you build it, the day AFTER it is finished building (There is the day you pay it off, then the day it is built, THEN the day after it is finished) You can reset over and over until you get a villager you want, because for that day ONLY, you are guaranteed a camper each time!
Good luck resetting! I'd say, make sure in the town you choose, there's no annoying little things that you don't notice at first or don't think will bother you - eg you might think you don't care about being far away from the dock, then after playing for a few weeks start getting bothered by it and want to reset again. Little things like do you like having a vertical ramp going towards the dock? And would it bother you not having that? How about beaches - some people like having one main beach and a little private one only accessible by swimming, i like having a split beach so both are easily accessible and i can grow bananas on one and coconuts on the other. When you're resetting it's probably a good idea to try and choose a map where you can see plenty of good spaces for permanent PWPs, like the police station, cafe, and campsite, to try and avoid being stuck with something permanent in a place you don't like. Some maps seem to have less or more space depending on the way they're laid out, having minimal lakes can make the town seem bigger and leave you more space.. Oh, and depending on whether you have an east or west beach, main street is laid out slightly differently, with the pond and museum, and the bench, switched round. Uh.. That's all i can think of for now, sorry for rambling, i spent days resetting for my current town! Good luck!
Take all of your items, hybrids and bells with you *^*
And I'd say that you should keep an eye out for any annoying rocks (I got 1 that cuts into my path), check for the little holding ponds, where Re-Tail and the Town Hall is, and any future ideas for PWPs
Don't settle for less!
Figure out what you want in your town layout, fruit, etc., and don't stop until you get it!
It's super tedious and annoying. I reset so many times, but finally got a town that had literally /everything/ I was looking for.
So well worth it
Try to figure out how you want it laid out. For example, when I picked mine, I picked one that had the town hall and the plaza next to eachother on the northern half, with ReTail on the southern half (divided by a mostly-horizontal river). This made me use the northern half for the more "official", cleaner, tidier part with some official buildings, and the southern part more like a small, cozy neighborhood with my house, villager houses, caf? etc around ReTail. Also lots of scattered trees on the southern part for a more natural look, with bushes and trees lined up and big flower arrangements on the northern part. I really like having a divide like this, but it's all up to you of course.
Also, think about the rivers. Do you prefer fishing from the side or from above/below? I personally think the bridges look the nicest on a vertical river, so you see them from the side.
