Any methods for getting more suggested PWP?

Do you mean you only got one ping for a PWP or one ping for anything? If you only got one for a PWP, then it's because you can only get one PWP request per day. If you only got one ping overall, then I'm not really sure what you can do.
The only ping I got was for a greeting.
Have nothing in your inventory but flowers and fossils (villagers won't look to buy those) to eliminate villagers trying to buy/give stuff. You can't avoid the greeting/catchphrase changes but there's a higher chance of PWP that way.
The game needs 5 minutes to reset that they haven't seen you. The only other thing I could recommend is saving and quitting after you talk to all villagers though..
