Hey everyone. I have a problem. I'm trying to record some gameplay on the Wii. I'm using a LG DVD Recorder. I made a DVD and put it on the computer, but I figured out I had to rip it. I ripped a part out of it, but I then figured out I had to convert it. I kind of drew the line there, because I had to buy a converter. Anyway, my main question is is there an easier way to do this? Is there something I can get that will automatically convert it to what I want? Is there an easier way to do it online? I believe it was, like, avi something and I needed MPEG4... or the other way around. Any assistance would be appreciated. If I left something out, let me know and I'll give more specific details. Thank you all :D

If this is too complicated, basically I want an easy way to record, edit, and upload a video of Wii gameplay. I'd like to find a way to just record it, upload it to the computer, edit it in Windows Movie Maker, and upload it to Youtube.

I still need help, everyone. I have a finalized DVD in my computer, and I don't know what to do next. Like I said, I need to get it to Windows Movie Maker to edit it, then upload it to youtube.

I think Andy has something like that, you might wanna ask him about it.

Alright, new problem. When I try to upload the movie to WMM, I get this message... C:\Users\POwner\Videos\Title_0110.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box. Anyone know what that means? O.O

For problem #1- You could upload the vid to Yutube temporarily, then use a free youtube downloader to download and convert it. It'll kill the quality, but it's better than paying $50 for a fileconverter.
For your latest problem- Gogle avi codec. Follow the instructions given there, and download it.

Alright, I found a super awesome converter I can get for 30 some dollars. For my second problem, I just had to get a .mpg file instead of .avi. The only problem is the movie looks a bit blurry, but maybe that's because I'm using a free trial. I'll keep building up, but I like what I have so far.
One more question. I'm on WMM now with my episode and music, and I'm having a problem. Does anyone know if I can stop the audio for a bit and just play music? Like I want to make it so for a bit you can't hear any sounds from the game, but music plays. And I want to hear the audio in, like, the beginning and ending...

Lol! You don't have to even upload it, just use the program to convert the original file!

I didnt read a word anyone posted, but use Windows Movie maker. Its works just fine. Go look for some things to encode it into HD though.

Alright, new problem. I have a video all made and converted and all, but when I try to play it only the music plays. I can't see the video at all. Anything I'm doing wrong?

@Emerald: I have my own converter I use, but thanks anyway
@Niko: I converted it to .wmv.
Also, I figured out the problem and solved it. If I have anymore questions, I'll post them here :)
