I'm curious to see if we have any members of the TBT who play musical instruments, like in concert or marching bands, or orchestras.

Personally, I'm in my school's marching and concert bands and play bass clarinet and tenor sax.

I play the violin as my school requires everyone to.

inb4 flutes

Oh how I miss high school. I went to a school for the performing arts and was the principle flautist in the orchestra. I loved every minute of it. I still play my flute all the time. I also play the piano, piccolo, guitar a little, and I sing quite well c:

I have played a couple of instruments in my lifetime: the Ukulele (gandalf), the guitar (robin), the recorder (horus) and the harp (kayla).

im in band and i play trombone and tuba
trying jazz band next year and now i kinda regret it bc im so shy

I used to be in band back in middle school. I would have taken it in high school too but we had to be in marching band if we wanted to be in symphonic band so I quit because I hated marching. I only joined because my cousin played the flute so I wanted to too, and because band students didn't have to take P.E. or art, but I ended up being second chair flute and was the only one of the flutes to go to honors band. Part of me wishes I played the alto sax, but we only had three alto saxes and they were all awful and the two better ones never showed up to concerts, so I'm kind of glad I didn't because I don't think I could handle that type of pressure.

I formerly played flute. Stopped because I was being picked on for it and I was absolutely horrible and there was no way I had a chance at seat placement. That, and I just downright hated the instrument altogether.

Now I'm playing trumpet, and it's so much better than flute. Decent seat placement for me this time around. No regrets, made it to Jazz Band too. :)

Edit: Gah I hate double posts

i picked up the tuba this year so ive been focusing on learning it and trying to get good enough so yeah. so i kinda..uh..ignored my trombone for a while. just now ive been starting to play it again and idk im so behind compared to the other trombones and i hate it omg. i dont play it in concert band bc im like the only tuba so they need me to play it in class. hopefully i can start practicing more

I completely understand, man. I have a clarinet I haven't practiced in nearly 5 months, ahaha.

Nice! I've been first chair bass clarinet for the same amount of time :>

I play the violin in my school's orchestra. I'm going to be learning the ocarina next year, so I might be able to use that in the orchestra, too.

I mainly play the oboe in band, piccolo in marching, and bass guitar in jazz combo. Occasionally I play the bassoon in band, and I just started practicing the alto saxophone.

i'm in my school orchestra and i play violin. used to play saxophone for a few years but i quit D: that was for like 3 years and it was fun. i've been in orchestra for like 10 years now o_O

I play piano/keyboard but I'm not part of any bands or orchestras :o Maybe I'll post a video of me playing 'let it go' sometime. It took a while to learn because of the really fast roll over notes.
