I decided about resetting a while ago. I plan on resetting in a few days, maybe even tomorrow! Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm really feeling anxious about it. The main reason I wanted to reset was to get a much better town layout. The thing is, I've grown attached to all of my villagers, seeing them as excellent friends. I would hate to have to toss away our friendships and move away. If I were to get them again, it just wouldn't feel like the same one I knew. They wouldn't remember me as who I once was and I would have to rebefriend them. Also, by resetting, I'll have to get all of my villagers, shops, and PWP's back. I'm lending someone my items until I get my new town. Yeah, anyways, I'm feeling anxious about resetting because I don't want to end my friendships with my old animals and about getting everything I once had back, like my shops. Please help!

And this is the only game I really hesitate about resetting. I don't wanna lose all eight months of progress... And I'm a thirteen year old guy worrying about THIS of all things...

I would say, if you think your layout is something that will continue to bother you, then do it.. Better to get the resetting process over and done with and get started on the new town as soon as possible. Like there were a few things in particular that i wanted in my layout and i knew not having them would be something that would bother me, so i reset (although luckily i reset a town I'd only had for a few days). But if you're the kind of person that can make the best of the layout you have and it wont bother you, then maybe it's not worth resetting. It's worth considering if you really DON'T like your town map, or if you've just got used to it and the novelty of a new town has worn off. I find that when I've been playing a town for a few weeks and I'm used to it, other towns in the dream suite look way more interesting.. But then i realise that my town has interesting bits that i really like but just don't notice as much any more.

sorry for such a long response, hope that helped though! :)

Yes, if you think the feeling about your layout won't go away then do it now.
Maybe you should wait a while longer to make sure it's what you really want to do.

I'm in the same boat as you. I really want to reset because of my town layout, but at the same time, I don't want to because of my villagers. But, I finally decided that I will keep my town because I can work around my layout. This is what I picked before joining any ACNL community/forum so I'll keep it that way? But then again, maybe I say this because I have another copy I plan to "perfect (as in pick a map that's great to me)"..

If you decide to reset, there's only looking forward, never backwards! ^^ Give it until a set due date? D:

I don't think I'm ever resetting- it seems to me that there will always be something not PERFECT about your town, but if you feel anxious about it, then maybe reconsider!!

I considered resetting in February after starting at the beginning of January. I love my town map, I already had 4 of my Dreamies, and I had peaches. My favorite. I finally finished the exterior of my house, too. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the placement of my Cafe and the Police Station. I mentioned it to my boyfriend, and he urged me not to. Give it time, play a little longer with my new PWPs. Reluctantly, I agreed. One more week.

And you know what? I'm so happy I didn't reset it. I've added flowers and paths, and I absolutely love how my town looks (except for one tiny thing, but I hardly notice that any more). If I lost it, I would be crushed.

If you really don't want to then don't reset, but I can say that I reset once because of my layout and I was much happier with my town afterward. Just make sure you take your time and find a town you really like. I was rushed before and now here I am again resetting.

Just rip the bandaid off and do it! Don't be stuck with a layout you don't like. You'll get over your old villagers and probably find new ones you love.

This is all up to you sweetie, if you feel you don't want all the effort and time you put into your current town resetted, then don't do it all. But if you feel your current town bugs you too much, go for it. (: I personally wouldn't reset, but if it bugs you enough, you should give it a go! x

I had a friend who really didn't want to reset, but I convinced her to, and she's really happy with the way everything turned out. In the end, though, it's really all up to how much time you're willing to invest to get everything back to the way you like.

Don't reset! I was thinking the same think a month after I got the game. I thought, if I don't reset, I'll never be happy with my town layout. I began to love my town after that. I really don't think it's primarily the layout that makes your town great, it's how you place the paths and PWPs, and the positions you choose for your villagers (if you plot reset).

If you're having second thoughts, then it must mean something. :)
Don't reset until you are 100% sure.

SuperSparky1 why don't you try to work around your town layout. You don't want to lose your villagers you have grown attached to.

The longer you hesitate to reset, the harder it is. I'd say, if you don't like your layout then go for it. Then you have as much time as you want for regaining friendships ect.

This is pretty much what I was going to say.

Yeah don't reset, I hated my town layout for the longest time, but now after I have put a lot of work into it I've managed to make a nice town with it.

If you value the current villager friendships, achievements and Bells you have so far, don't reset.
I started on August 8th so...around 9 months since I started my town. I kinda also hate my town layout, but I will never reset just for that ;_;
