I take lots of risks when I cycle. Even if I haven't walked in front of everyone, I then rely on my villagers to tell me rumors on who's leaving and if no one says anything I TT to the next day til I get a ping because my memory has been butt lately. I'm scared my risk taking is going to get the better of me sooner or later and that I'm going to lose one of the 8 dreamies I already achieved. :c

I totally feel you :o
Though I (used) to cycle in a town full of lame o's no one cares about so I was fine then

I'm TTing a bit right now so I can get Marshal to move, as I'm going to trade him for Ankha. I've been pretty reckless to, I hope I don't end up regretting it. >.<

hah yeah you had less of a risk than me, but it's ok cuz so far i have everyone in tact.

Yeah, I feel you on that. The more permanent villagers in a town, the more nerve-wracking it is to cycle or even just TT around.

I TT pretty recklessly to get villagers to move. But I've been doing it so long that I've refined my methods and I've got a good guess as to how the game mechanics work. I use such a crazy sounding method, though, that I've stopped posting it when people make threads asking for other peoples' cycling methods. .-.

the thing is, i know the ins and outs of how cycling works and how the system works with choosing when the villagers go and what patterns there are, but i forget so quickly and take too many breaks so i forget where i left off. x__x

i'm gonna post the patterns that i notice on here in a bit. i think i'm right on this one too since it hasn't been proven wrong at all.

I'm interested in reading the patterns you've been noticing. o:

I use a Mon-Fri cycle so I always know where I've left off. I use a week with no events during the weekdays. When a villager pings me, I tell them no and move the date back to Monday. Then I TT forward (usually to Friday) and look for pings. If I get nothing, I go back to Thursday. Still nothing? I go forward again to Friday. Basically, if I turn on my game and find I'm on a day that's NOT Monday, I didn't finish a cycle and there might be someone waiting to ping me. If I'm on Monday, I'm ready to start a new cycle.

Well, I think it is actually enough to walk up to one villager every day and talk to him until he mentions one of the other villagers (excluding bringing items to them or sth). If in that mention, nothing is being said about a villager wanting to move, then that's it. No one is looking to move at that moment.
This method has never failed for me, and it is a lot quicker than talking to EVERY villager x'D You may just be unlucky and the villager you are talking to IS the one trying to move, so maybe you should talk to at least two to be 100% sure.

Just as a tip from me ;)

hmm i get the feeling that our strategies are similar but i think i understand more of the system while you do it by days. ill explain it all when i make the thread lol. your technique is a little weird though, but if it doesn't fail you or have caused any accidents then there's no reason to stop using it or to be suspicious of it.

hmmm.... the thing is i'm so anxious i force myself to check with both of my snooties + flurry because i'm close with them and if all of them dont give me an answer then i continue tting. thanks for the tip though (x

Yeah, I know it's a weird technique. I just use the days to help keep track of where I am. It hasn't failed me yet, but if there's more info to be had about the game mechanics about when villagers move, I could use that to refine my technique even more.

Looking forward to reading your thread later on~
