Another toy day question.

Do villagers give you different hints at different parts of the month? I have a couple of villagers that asked for the same color items, but they won't tell me anything but color! Did I miss the timeframe for a different hint or do I have to nag them mercilessly to find out the other part?

I thought that villagers only gave you one hint?
If I'm wrong, judging by how random Animal Crossing can be, I would say that you probably have to nag them until they give in in order to find the next part of the clue...

They give two different hints, randomly: the color of the gift and what type of gift it is. Sometimes, it takes a while for them to say the other hint )-:

From my experience, most villagers will give out two hints (it doesn't matter what part of the month it is, I've gotten both clues on the same day), but some of my villagers keep repeating the same hint over and over again. My advice would be to talk to your villagers as much as possible and if they keep repeating the same hint, move on to the next villager. If you get at least one hint from every villager and two from some, that should be enough information to piece things together on Toy Day to get everyone their present.

Ah okay.
At least now I know they give you two hints! I never really bother with Toy Day if I'm completely honest. Too busy with my own festivities to worry about my town's.

They give you 2 hints about what they want. I bet Freya wants rococo furniture, just a guess.

I've just been talking to them, get one hint, save, then reopen the game. I've noticed they give you one hint per save. However they could very well give you the exact same hint when you reopen the game so it takes time

I get very easy the 2 hints by talking to them until they don't want to talk no more and move on to the next animals and I get the 2 hints like that

You can get them ANYTIME, granted you will have to talk to them at an insane amount of times to finally get both hints. I was able to get all my 20 on 12/2 simply by talking to them over and over and over- they go into thought mode, I then moved on to another one, and repeated until all 10 gave me the color/item they want.

they give you two hints: the color of it and what category its in (clothes, a chair, carpet, etc)
