Another Nookazon Rant...

I would always see other users posting their bad Nookazon experience and I even remember commenting on one of them that they Nookazon users weren't so bad. but I have been proven wrong.

I have been spending my past 3 days (irl) trying to tt Fauna out. I've been using the method of moving forward one day so the thought bubble transfers to another villager, and while it worked, it never EVER transferred to Fauna. It took until March of 2021:')

So here I am all happy that Fauna is leaving and I know that she's been looked for. So I post her up on Nookazon for free cause I want her gone quick. My Nookazon says I do not accept friend requests on Discord. A user (let's call them Q) adds me anyways. Okay I get it, maybe you didn't see that part. I understand. Q then messages me about Fauna. But messages me 5 separate times each a minute apart, 2 of them being "please". I thought they were just really desperate to get Fauna, so I didn't mind at first and messaged them back after marking Fauna as sold. I told them that I was going to open my gates in a bit, and they then tell me they have to kick out a villager so to give them time. That's fine too, I gave them time.

Q then messages me about the dodo code, and I tell them I'll go and open my gates since I didn't open it right away (cause they didn't even have a plot open). While I am trying to open my gates, Q is spamming me about the dodo code. "What's the code?" is sent three times. gIRL. pLEASE. It hasn't even been three minutes yet. Was I a fool to message her back? To give her Fauna instead of giving her to someone else? I didn't know. I then send her the dodo so she's now on my island and in the middle of getting Fauna. and then my power goes out. She then messages me "hey I wasn't ready yet". And I know I shouldn't be mad at her cause she didn't know, and I had to explain to her that I was experiencing a power outage, and she didn't understand and told me to just charge my switch and that it'd just take two minutes to turn back on. Was this a sign..? To not give her Fauna..? I don't know.

Power comes back on and I let her back on, and she asked to tour my island so I let her (cause she called it pretty and I am a sucker for compliments LMFAO.). I had this gated off area of DIYs. It was fenced off and everything, but I missed a part so she got through it from using the vaulting pole. And I'm like... girl.. WHY. I had to message her telling her to not take any of them cause they weren't meant for her. I just don't understand why you didn't get the hint if they were fenced off.

At this point, I am done. She left right after (thank god). But here I am all pissed. I realized I was a fool for giving her Fauna and I never should've invited her.

Yes, I realize that it was honestly my fault. I was giving Q the benefit of the doubt way too many times, but I had to post my rant somewhere. And with that, thanks for listening :') I think I'll be sticking to TBT now and forever.

I'm sure you made their day, and at the end of it all, your diys were safe! Just don't forget you have the right to deny offers too!! And don't regret it too much cause it happened already (at least that's how I see it - fretting over the past won't do ya any good)

I am also banking as well that the player is still young or possibly with a disability. Hence, those replies would make a lot of sense.

I would commend your patience as well on hosting a player like her. I am sure it's not a good experience based from your story. However, we will have to deal with these people at some point in time. She probably didn't know that you're having a hard time. I agree with @aesbea here. I am sure you made her day.

Yes! I was thinking that too, that they were a younger player. That's why I was trying to be patient with them but I felt like I was gonna blow any moment. I ended up warning them at the end about everything so they wouldn't alarm other users.

I know I shouldn't be mad but oh my god I was so livid in the moment And I know it's just a game too but like.. maybe I'm like this after attempting to tt her out for so long

I'm always very careful with deals like these, but with a bit of talking it's usually pretty easy to tell if you're dealing with an experienced trader, a new one (which is totally okay!) or whether the person on the other end is not to be left unsupervised. This is exactly why it helps to talk to someone a little before you have them over!

There are a lot of red flags in your conversation and I don't think I would have left them alone... Which is something because I usually don't care where people run off to at all I also probably would have given them their villager though. Like others said, they were probably very young! So the excitement makes sense and I can see how you felt overwhelmed by it, for sure!

I dealt with a person like that here on TBT back in 2013 when New Leaf came out. Worst part was that since they were on this forum they ended up bothering me for weeks about free items/wanting to come to my town.

I was too nice to say no back then because I thought maybe it was a kid or something and as an adult I didn't want to be a jerk to child.

She sounds like a child. I dealt with someone like this when selling Zucker on reddit. Spammed my DMs with 20+ messages with “please” and “I’m gonna report you if you don’t give him to me!” The best part was when he said “hurry and reply cuz my parents want me to turn off my switch”

Best to just block these people and move on. I tag all my reddit posts as NSFW now to prevent younger players from seeing them.

It does sound like a younger player. Maybe the next time you try to kick out a villager via TT, maybe move the villager house closer to the airport or on the beach so it's easier to fence off access. This of course depends on how develop your island.

Other note about the friend request on discord. You can message people without accepting the friend request assuming that they have the correct settings and you are using a computer.

I find it really hard to message people directly on the discord mobile app since clicking the discord user name link on mobile doesn't redirect properly. So I end up sending a friend request to message them cause they might be on the server.

If someone knows an easy way to message someone on mobile without adding them please let me know.

That's fine if you are talking to them in the server on the discord app. I'm talking about when I'm browsing the actual nookazon website and I get their user name from there. Not everyone on the website is also on the discord server.

Edit: Nvm you got spammed not scammed. You could've cancelled like on three different occasions. The way I see it, you signed up for this and you made that (kid, most likely) really happy. I think it'd be better to look at the situation as you making a child's day, or maybe making their whole game more special and magical to them. Be happy.
