Annoying **** Your School Does

I don't go to public school anymore, but when I did I remembered hating so much. Middle school was a nightmare. Every day before lunch, the teachers would line you up in the hallway and walk you down to the cafeteria. You had to be in a perfect line, and completely silent. If we talked or got out of line, they would walk us all the way back and force you to walk to the cafeteria until you got things right. One day, we didn't do it right so they took away our recess for the next day and they forced us to walk up and down the widewalks outside for 15 minutes while they yelled at us for "misbehaving".

They would also give us silent lunch if we got too loud. That makes no sense to me, because the middle school cafeteria was in a fcking auditorium Yes, let's put three hundred hungry and excited kids in a room that's made to echo noise and then get mad when things get noisy. If you talked during silent lunch, you got detention no questions asked. And they would give us silent lunch until we got things right, so basically 80% of the time we had silent lunch. Things would get so bad that they would force you to sit at a table with your home room class. You couldn't sit where you wanted. I remember one time they even made us sit alphabetically.

I hated middle school and I hated fcking silent lunch and those teachers.

Regarding your uniform talk, to be honest I wouldn't really mind. I'm not overly into fashion other than I have a hippie/scruffy musician look and I could very well have that outside of school only. Also considering how fashion at school is here(especially people like 10-15 here) it would be a good idea.

YEP. the whole point was to not make us look like primary school children .w.

we were doing our own ties (or our parents were) in primary school. altho i was lazy and only loosened it enough to take it off at the end of the day, and put it back on the next day

I remember one time I had a physics teacher named Ms. Klopman. She's literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She didn't teach the subject well, no one understood the material, not to mention she yelled at me for a panic attack she caused. Funny enough I love physics now, no thanks to her.

we have anti bullying stuff at our school, like, we're seriously working w anti bullying stuff every week but the only stuff they talk about is that you aren't supposed to bully people... whicH is great but they never really look at our own school and try to get rid of the bullying going on in it which really annoys me.
I mean, if we're going to work with it anyways then pls do something that makes a difference instead of wasting our time?? like everyone knows that it's not okay to call people ugly ffs, if there's a problem with someone calling people ugly then we can talk about it but first let's maybe focus on what is actually happening to students in school every day?? smh

also some teachers take our phones during class, which makes me sound super spoiled when i complain about it i know, but my phone is like... a really good ssafety object for me and i'm constantly listening to music and due to my autism i have trouble filtering out sounds so i cannot study in school if i can't listen to music (which i do on my phone)
i get that phones can be really annoying and disturbing during class but i just think that there could be some other way to do it... idk..,,

my school is alright tho

In second grade they made us do Singapore math, so basically we were like their test rats. Also.. This school was a Spanish immersion school, so if you didn't know basic Spanish by first grade, you were screwed. Anyway, they made us do Singapore math, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW? I was behind in math all the way to last year, which was about 4 years.
That school also had like a sht ton of problems as well. It's not even funny.

Made us all attend class as usual even though the power was off all day and it was 30 degrees inside and out.

Not my school district, but I got a 128 on an MG test, and my principle said I couldn't get in cause I needed 'exactly' 130.

2 words - SOCIAL SKILLS
my school put me in this class because i am apparently "not social" i play DS all day and i am the NICEST person you could ever meet on ACNL. I know all the crap to be social now my mom wants me to practice my "skills" that i already have :I there is a kid in the class that teases me and my boyfriend (my boyfriend is in social skills too) he is so annoying. and i would love to stab him with a lance (because that is his name). anyway we learned "how to disagree properly" im like WTH i have anger issues and TOTALLY cant do that. heck me and my boyfriend had a hard time thinking of a "positive" way to disagree.

Oh my lordie let me tell you. Last year was my first year in high school. Thank the lord am I glad to get out of the middle school. Earlier this school year, the middle school changed rules. There's the usual no phones and no gum things. (In high school, we can have phones out at break and lunch, and chew gum anytime). But, you can't hold hands. You can't be in a group bigger than five. You can't be with someone of the opposite gender on the bus or alone (which is dumb because it's ONLY opposite gender, not same??). The high school has much more freedom omg. But one thing ticks me off. (Or two)
There's a few schools cluttered by each other on the blocks and we're EXPECTED to get to school right on time. There's tons of traffic because there's only two roads to take to get to school. Also, my school likes to plagiarize logos from the Minnesota Timberwolves' basketball team and from CLIPART, even though I submitted my own hand drawn logo :')

My district never does and never will give us snow days.

It can be a blizzard, 6 feet of snow, and we'll still be going to school

I'm not kidding.

our dress code system is fcked up. i've walked around school ground wearing booty shorts countless times and never got called out for it. so i was in a rush this morning and threw on a random pair of jeans only to realize that they were way too long for me, but i didnt have time to change. the only way i could get them to fit nicely was to roll them up an inch or two up my legs - got pulled to the side because my jeans were rolled up too high, and imo they weren't. i said i'd roll them down a bit, but they made me change into whatever other clothes i had. all i had were leggings in my gym locker that were just as short as those jeans and they were fine with it. this is wrong in so many ways like

edit // discussed this with a student representative of the school and he thinks it's because my rolled up jeans looked trashy to the teachers. we do have a dress code on being able to dress casually yet at the same time semi-formal (no sweats or the likes). this is probably how it is for pretty much all public schools, but mine specifically is more strict on dressing neatly than other public schools i know of. but come on, why did nobody stop me when i wore fkg booty shorts

Teachers complaining for 30 minutes how time gets wasted in an 60 minute class...
My math teacher refused to explain stuff because we were supposed to learn at home... okay

My school has this "bracelet" system. Every five weeks they hand out bracelets of different colors depending on how well you did for those past five weeks: GPA, behavior, etc. Depending on which one you get you get different rewards.
Problem with this system is that kids have gotten bullied for having lower ranked bracelets, or no bracelet at all. Also sometimes the bracelets are given out unfairly. For example a friend of mine has a 95 GPA and is a nice person and got a low ranking bracelet.
I have a 94 GPA and am... Not the best person, and I get a higher ranking bracelet. This opposite is also true.
I've seen kids who constantly disrupt class get the highest possible ranking bracelet.

Also my school has a tendency to announce things at the last minute/very late. A week or two ago we got this notice to join a fancy honors club, and the invitation was only given to kids with a high GPA (I think it was 90 or above, so I got one). However it required you to write several essays and get a lot of community service hours done in a pretty short period of time. I probably could've gotten it done if I worked my butt off, but I have other things to do in life, like... Uhmmmm... uhhhh, I..... Wellllll.... uhmmm
ANYWAY
Also, my school year is decided into four quarters. Every quarter it's determined who made the honor roll. People who made the honor roll or high honor roll get breakfast with the principal and an award ceremony.
Right now we're halfway through the third quarter and today I get an invitation to the breakfast and ceremony. Halfway through the quarter. I know it likely takes a long time to see who made the honor roll, but halfway through the quarter??

What I dislike that my school stopped doing was the annoying dress code. Your pants/skirt/whatever had to be lower than your knee. At the time I was a very girly girl who REFUSED to wear pants of any kind, and below knee length skirts really aren't my thing...
Also, that dress code could get really annoying when it was hot out.

In the younger grades my teachers really weren't the best and there was a lot of stress on the kids.
Now my teachers are a lot nicer... Usually.

Ugh, my school makes me regret not accepting the academy invites (I highly despise of Rich Kid schools).

One thing that irritates me the most is om the subjects they teach us in classes like Science, History, and Algebra. They teach us High School Junior Year Level Algebra, since the District thinks it prepares us better for High School, but that thought is quite contradictory since 30% of all Algebra students are failing due to this system.
Lunch is quite vile in my school; the Hamburger Meat tastes like a weat sponge, the Fries are soggy, the bread has mold, it's manditory to get fruit, and then they wonder why we get fruit although we never eat it. I'm friends with this girl who got food poisoning for eating the food. Heck, the even served me and expired Egg Sandwhich and they ignored me when i said it was expired.
Another thing is that most teachers don't give a **** when somebody does something, for ****s sake (pardon my profanity, i tend to get very profane when i'm angered or when i feel like it). I was taking a final exam and a kid was cheating off of me, i told the Teacher and she just flat out said: "Don't be a tattletale". Same goes with a history teacher i know, she basically thinks biased opinions such as "Girls only care about being ****ed" or "Why do you ****heads never do your work" (*cough* Maybe because she rants at us too much).

So i highly abhor of my school due to things, but that's not the end of the list. There's more things, but i think i already gave my daily dose of ranting already.

Well the toilets flooded and there was urine flooding the hall and they just let us casually walk through it.
