Anime subs vs dubs?

Subs. They were still meant to be like the original, but unless it's something like Spirited Away or anything by Studio Ghibli, then dubs would do well.

Also, I watch all my foreign language films with subs.

I watch dubs for Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Dragonball. Other than those three, I only watch subbed anime.

It really just depends on how well the dub is made for a specific anime.

Anime series like Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball, The Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Studio Ghibli films (usually), and FLCL all have pretty stellar dubs.

Subs all the way. Dubs just sound cheesy and it seems like only terrible actors/actresses get chosen to do voice overs in English. We need more talent in the dub department in my opinion.

I love dubs :). I hate that I have to fix my eyes on the screen with subs, so I can't turn away for a second.

Depends on the anime. I like Soul Eater dubbed, whereas I prefer Golden Boy subbed.

I am watching a lot more subbed anime now that I have Crunchyroll and Hulu, but ultimately I think the vast majority of dubs are fine and I am generally more than happy to watch either version.

mmmm yes I love the Rurouni Kenshin dub.

The "Samurai X" one is atrocious though.

Sub all the way, except for a few special cases such as Cowboy Bebop. Steve Blum can caress my eardrums all day long with his voice.

There are a few good dubs out there, but for the most part I prefer subs. The majority of dubs are just so frickin' badly done and sound so awkward and.. ugh, no thank you. I don't know who in their right mind would suffer through that crap when they could just watch the lovely original, WITH subtitles.

I don't watch a whole lot of anime anymore but when I was really into it, I preferred subs over dubs mainly because I didn't have a choice (some of the shows either weren't coming to the US or took a really long time).

However, for some shows that I grew up with (Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, etc.) I prefer the dubs, mainly because it was the first language I watched them in and I associated the voices to the characters better than when I attempted to watch them in Japanese.

Sub is always the best option.
My friend was watching Fairy Tail dubbed, as he wasn't a fast reader. Apparently the voices changed after an arc. O.o
The only dubbed animes I can stand are Pokemon and Sailor Moon.

Dubs.

I mean, sure, you get a better performance out of subs. Ai sounds a billion times better subbed in Jigoku Shoujo.

But i usually lean toward dubbing because i'm lazy and just want to watch a show. not read it.

I prefer subs better than dubs. I've gotten used to reading and watching through my peripherals over the years. There are some titles that I prefer to watch the dubbed versions, which include FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, only because those were the titles that first got me into watching anime. Back when Adult Swim showed anime every night instead of Saturday nights.

9 times out of 10 dubs are poorly done

The 1 time out of 10 would be something like Fullmetal Alchemist. So well done.

I prefer watching things in their original language, so sub for me usually. There are some really good dubs out there, though, like Soul Eater and Durarara!!.
