Animated Avatar?

Hello everyone I'm recently new to The Bell Tree Forums and was just wondering how I use the animated avatar feature? I purchased it and it has a tick beside the 'Active' box so I uploaded a picture that's a gif (obviously) and it's not moving..

Oh and also, how do you write blogs on here?

Can someone please help me? I know this is stupid but help is appreciated thanks!

Maybe the problem is the size? I tried using an animated avatar that was bigger than the maximum and it didn't work, but when I cropped it, it worked fine.
