Welcome to the town of Animalia (unimaginative name, I know, but I was lazy)! I took office as mayor here on December 26, 2013, and have been playing nonstop ever since. I have slacked off a little now that I've gotten through every major yearly event, but I still very much enjoy turning on the game every day and seeing what's going on in my town. Some call it obsession; I say it's dedication. As this blog goes on, I'll be showing you little things about my town, what I like about it, what villagers live here, my house, my PWPs, etc., but for now, to keep from talking too much in my first blog post, I'm going to keep quiet about all that for now.
As usual, my day began by patrolling the town, digging up fossils and watering flowers. I cancelled my Beautiful Town ordinance three days ago to increase my weed-pulling count and try to get some gold roses...I just never thought that watering would be SO MUCH WORK. However, just as I was about to fear that my assertion of mayoral power was for naught, I was rewarded today: not one, not two, but four wilted black roses! I watered them with my golden can, so tomorrow I should have some nice golden roses, baby! I saw Sahara roaming around, but I wasn't interested in any new carpet or wallpaper, so I saved my money. While out patrolling, Punchy pinged me and gave me an orange tie-dye tee...thanks, little guy! Checking in Re-Tail, I found a polka-dot chair up for sale that I had given Rosie for her house only 2 days ago. Seriously...she asks me for new furniture, I find literally the perfect thing for her in the store, and she sells it 2 days later?! If I didn't love you so freaking much, Rosie, you'd be in deep kitty litter... My turnip prices today were 83 before noon and 86 after, so it looks like my 300 turnips I bought yesterday will have to wait to be sold. The prices are increasing, though, so I'm hoping that's a good sign...
After all that digging, watering and shopping, it was time to unwind with the second thing I normally do each day: talk to my villagers. I have all my dreamies but one, and I consider myself lucky to have gotten mostly decent villagers throughout my ACNL experience. In addition to Punchy and Rosie, I have a lot of lovely villagers, like my resident superhero, Mira. She had gotten a present for Apollo that needed delivered, and I was too happy to oblige. Apollo seemed happy to receive the bear shirt, and as thanks, he gave me his picture! Woo hoo!!!

Unfortunately, one of my favorite villagers wasn't out and about today: Lolly. She was sick in her house with a cold for the second day in a row, so I took her some medicine. I can't wait to see her out and about again.
I saw Mira and Savannah engaged in conversation, so I listened in. Mira was telling a story about her latest adventure. This ought to be good, I thought, so I elected to listen in. Mira began to spin a tale about how she took on 3 people at once, with nothing but her trusty axe by her side. Dang...I didn't know the girl had it in her! However, it didn't turn out to be an epic comic book battle like I'd been hoping--it was only a log-chopping contest. Some super bunny...

Later, I found Apollo again, and he wanted a cherry. As my way of saying thanks for giving me his pic earlier, I gave him a perfect cherry from one of my trees. He seemed reluctant to take it, but I twisted his arm (wing?), and he loved it. As thanks, HE GAVE ME HIS PIC AGAIN!!! Apollo, you just became my new favorite villager. Sorry, Rosie...until you can learn to be more appreciative of your mayor's gifts, you're down to #2 on my list.
Punchy had a petition for "National Juice Box Day" that he wanted me to get signatures for. I didn't plan on visiting any towns today, but he convinced me with those cute, half-stoned eyes of his, and I accepted. I hope he doesn't get his hopes up...but if he wants a National Juice Box Day, who am I to keep him from dreaming? I'm going to try to asking my friends to open up later today if I can remember.
Anyhow, that was my first taste at blogging, and (hopefully) your first taste of Animalia. I hope to do many more like this in the future. Visit my dream town if you wish. Bye for now, and I'll see everyone next time!
