The Bell Tree Fair 2014 Patch
The weirdest thing just happened to me. So I tried helping someone earlier on trying to rescue Rosie from the void. It failed and I instead got a plot for Cherry(ew). I just now saw someone giving away Fang, so I tt to the next day so Cherry is officially moved in, so I can ask Fang to move in. Btw I have no idea if you really need to do that, but I always assumed you did.

I go and check to see if Cherry's plot is still there, and it's GONE. She didn't move in at all. I was like "dafuq?". So I got to check around town, she must've moved elsewhere, and because it's weeding day she maybe won't move in?!IDK. I go to check around town and do find a plot. Just out of curiosity I check the name, and what do I see?! CHARLISE is moving in, not Cherry. WTF ACNL??!! That has never happened to me before. I always thought once an animal plops down a plot, that they'll move in no matter what.
I also feel like I should add, I never officially saved when I checked for Cherry's plot. I did the plot reset trick, and just forgot to save. I wasn't keeping her anyways so I didn't feel like it mattered where she plopped down. So maybe that's why the animal that was coming in changed?! I wish I knew that was possible >.< I would've tried for a better animal than charlise xD

Question, did this ever happen to you?!

Yeah, if you have less than nine villagers and are resetting for a random move-in, the villager can and will change if you don't save.

I had no idea lol, my mind is blown! Been playing ACNL since the day it came out, and I had no idea this was a thing. Definitely doing it for the next random move in :D

Haha, yeah a lot of people do this for their early move-ins to try to get villagers they want. It's easiest for smugs and uchis in particular, since the game will try to force those two personalities on you in the first few move-ins (since you can't start with villagers of either of those personalities).

I managed to get Marshal and Mira in my new town this way, although they were not the smug and uchi I was looking for, but I settled for them since I didn't want to reset for ages, and figured they'd be easy to give away when they decide to move. :p

This is really good information! Definetly going to use it if I'm ever down to 8 animals again!

Maybe I should have tried this when Boone decided to plop down haha. Interesting.

So you're saying you can't start the game with a smug or Uchi in your town? Because I started with Julian in my town...

Do you have proof, like a picture of your tree planting ceremony? Not that I think you're lying, just that you might be misremembering. This has come up in threads before, and everyone who'd claimed to have started with a smug/uchi either couldn't provide proof, or they realized they were mistaken and their smug/uchi actually moved in the next day.

I would have if I would've known about taking pics when I first started lol

Maybe I am mistaken, only I don't remember ever seeing Julian's house plot... of course it doesn't say anything in my tree history.

I dunno, maybe you're right. I just don't remember.
