On the back of the box for ACNH (under the rating) it says "contains in game purchases". We have not seen any purchases in ACNH yet, so I was wondering if there ever will be any. This could simply mean a Nintendo Online Membership is required to get certain items (such as flowers that you cannot get on your island) or if they plan of including some in game purchases in the future. It could also mean Amiibo too as they cost money and allow you to get certain villagers, but it is unlikely in my opinion as they are not specially purchases inside the game. I personally hope there are no in game purchases ever as I don't want to be paying more money to enjoy the game more/to it's full potential, and I have already spent $20 on an online membership to play with others and to get new flowers and other fruits/items. Nintendo could be holding back on in game purchases so fans are not upset that they would throw one out in the first few months of the game, but I sincerely hope they never add in in game purchases. What are you thoughts and theories on this?

Given how Nintendo's flagship games have been recently plus how the devs for ACNH handled Splatoon 2 there will probably be a paid DLC down the line. I don't mind it as long as its a while away (at least a year minimum) and it also adds something meaty. The Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2 was worth every penny.

Good DLC, not something obviously cut out of the core game to sell later, is something I would rather have then the game just ending and having to wait until the next installment.

This conversation has been held numerous times prior to the release.
Could be paid DLC. Could refer to the Nintendo online. Isnt amiibo since amiibo arent in game purchases. The in game purchases you are thinking of such as microtransactions are not used in $60 games only free to play and mobile games. If they will have the option to buy anything itll be paid DLC like splatoon.

Wont affect you whether you buy it or not honestly. Never does in any of Nintendos games

There is a Nook Inc rug that's for online members only too (it's free, but again requires the membership) so that might qualify for what they're talking about.

I prefer this game to have no paid DLC, but I would not be surprised if it happened. I would consider paying for DLC, depending on cost and what it included.

There are some features I'd pay for (The first 2) or see being useful for others (The last 2)

Unbreakable tools
50x inventory spaces
Town rename
Player rename
