Animal Crossing New Horizons has just beaten New Leafs total lifetime sales in just its first month which is unbelievable

This game has been selling very fast and that is good.. I can't wait to see wait to see what else updates are in store for this game..

Do you lovely folks think that this game will become the best selling game on switch?

I'd like to think this whole pandemic played a part in those sales volumes, but regardless, that's a ton of copies. Makes total sense why there's a higher volume of shenanigans going on...there are simply more people playing.

quarantine is probably the best thing that’s ever happened for animal crossing😳 i can definitely see this being the best-selling game for switch, at least for the next couple of years

It's over halfway there! :) Amazing that it has that amount after only one month.

I've seen so many new faces in the community that are loving the game which is amazing. I've also been recommending it to co-workers and it has quickly become one of their favorite ways to unwind and recharge.

"Now, obviously Nintendo didn’t know a pandemic and global lockdown was going to happen, and I’m certainly not saying they orchestrated it alongside a shadowy cabal of global corporations to reaffirm their grip on power – to reiterate I am NOT saying that, Nintendo, you can stop sending the frighteners round, now – but Animal Crossing couldn’t have come out at a better time, because it offers something that is sorely needed – stability." - Yahtzee

My mom is so bored that she plays it now, it really gets around and anyone can play it!

I read somewhere that it sold 11m in 11 days, so that's a quick drop. I really don't think it'll have consistent big sales from now on. It's the perfect game at the perfect time, I think after one year the sales will be really low. Maybe it can be a topseller, but it depends on other games.

Lol

This is great, I'm happy it's a success. But I won't lie, my desire to gatekeep is STRONG

This is amazing! I think this pandemic is playing a big part in the success. Nintendo definitely chose the right time to release the game. Guess the delay was worth it in the end

From what I heard, they weren’t expecting so many copies to be sold that they might be doing around 3 years of free updates instead of 1 year.

lmao, you have no idea! So many people who talk to me about it keep saying 'well, you have to take it slowly, that's what this game is about duuhh!' And I just smile and nod, but inside I'm like 'I've played every game in this series probably longer than you've been alive, don't try to tell me about Animal Crossing.' And before now, I've never felt like that! It's so weird!

Right! My cousin in a family Zoom call was talking about how she wanted to play so bad but didn't have a Switch and I straight up just wanted to be like "don't play" LOL! I kind of miss when it felt like it was niche and special and my own place that was exclusive and not many people knew and/or were involved.

13 million is crazy, I’m surprised so many people can afford it tbf with people losing their jobs and stuff, imagine if people weren’t losing their jobs, the amount of people buying the game would be a lot more

That's great! The only thing that worries me is that after the quarantine is over, a huge chunk of the players might stop playing or move to other titles.
