Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been nominated for 2020's GOTY award

Congrats AC team at Nintendo. I think AC absolutely deserved to win this. Not only because it's an amazing game but also because of its impact during the worst (and most uncertain) moments of the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it's relevant to take into account how AC:NH helped many of us cope during these scary times (and continues to do so).

ooooh man Hades is on there as well i am so torn idk much about the other games, but considering the fact that 2 games i rly love (ACNH and Hades) r in that lineup i've no doubt that whoever wins will definitely deserve it. but these nominations are also equally deserved as well.

I feel like ACNH will win! The pandemic really boosted its sales and I think it became pretty widely played by many different groups of people.

I think ACNH should win, considering it has been the most popular bought game of all time on the Switch except Mario Kart. It's fantastically made, quick to fix bugs and even racially aware.

I think it deserves to win GOTY afterall it really helped a lot of people get through lockdowns and the current pandemic, and it is also a really awesome game IMHO

Considering how this year has been going, it is definitely a game we needed. Sadly, I do not think it will win. However.. just getting nominated is something!

This is amazing and I really hope it wins. It should. The amount of sales, media coverage, constant updates/bug fixes, listening to feedback from players etc makes it a fantastic game worth the award I think.

It should win, no doubt about it. While it's far from the best Animal Crossing game out there... the impact that New Horizons had was outstanding. I never thought Animal Crossing would make it to the mainstream. Its release date at the beginning of the pandemic probably helped it a lot, but it had such an impact on people. I'm definitely pulling for an NH win!

I definitely agree it deserves to win! Seriously, the year has felt so long and so weird that it's hard to remember last year this time, when this game was just one of many I was looking forward to, but that seemed so far away. It's not only been a great game that's only gotten better with the updates, but it really has been a lifesaver during some really wild times. Not only is it a relaxing and enjoyable game and distraction, but it's social features have helped a lot of people stay in touch with friends and family when they couldn't see each other in person.

Well deserved nominee, this game literally sold millions and so many new people, even celebrities play this game due to the endless fun and creativity you can show on your island. The multiplayer is not shabby and Nintendo has impressed me with giving the fans what they want. (New reactions soon and harvest day.)

I mean Ghost of Tsushima is very cool too and holds a place in my heart but ACNH helped me get through this crappy year so I say it should win no contest uvu
