I bought New Leaf in June of this year and played it for a day before I moved back home. I started playing again after the Welcome Amiibo update and a lot of the things that happened prior to the update isn't happening now?

Watching a Youtube Leafer name Seri! Pixel Biologist! confirmed that my memory was correct and I am not noticing the things that happened in my game back in June.

These things include the following below:

1. Animals not talking to each other. It show the exclamation mark and other symbol that pop in their head as they are facing each other but they never talk to each other? I remember the villagers talking to each other twice back when I played it in June.

2. Animals don't even notice when I catch a bug or a fish in front of them. They don't even claps or comment anymore.

3. Animals don't give me medicine when I get stung by a bee. A lot of my villagers would give me medicine back then. All the animals do now is say I need to buy medicine.

I think that is all for now but these aspect is really deflating for me. I know there is a few more but I can't remember at the moment.

Is this HAPPENING in your game? Have you notice anything different about the update other than the dream suite?

1. I have the most recent update, and my villagers still talk to each other.

2. My villagers do acknowledge when I catch a bug or a fish.

3. I've only been offered medicine one time, even before the update. It was never a frequent occurrence for me.

Maybe some of these differences depend on your villager friend level?...Anyone else?

Is actually depending on the friendship
My animal do talk to each other but i see it when I pressed a in their conversation

Uchi personality and maybe your best will give you medicine but that the level of friendship you have. With them

And they do when they see you it's not when they don't see you

You cited pretty situational, rare occurrences. None of these things happen frequently in game. I've played this game pretty much every single day since the North American launch in June 2013 and I can go weeks or months without witnessing a villager conversation. They don't automatically start speaking when they're near each other. It's definitely happened to me since the update though.

Villagers will still clap if you catch a fish in front of them but they need to be at exactly the right angle for them to do it.

Not all villager types give you medicine. Uchis are the most dependable. Deirdre gave me some a few days ago when I went on a tree chopping spree.

Nothing was removed from the game since the update apart from glitch stuff. Just keep playing and these things will happen sooner or later.

Okay I will trust you. I was so worry something happen to my game since I tend to clean my game cartridge often with disinfectant wipes.

I wish the animals would talk to each other at least once a day like in Wild World.

I'm 95% sure that only Uchi type villagers will give you medicine.
My villagers hardly ever clap for me because they're shady little ****s lmao
And villagers rarely ever talk to each other naturally in this game. However, if you want to force more villager conversations, do the diving trick a few times. As long as there's a few villagers bunched up in the same general area, they'll talk to each other much more frequently.

I won't answer the other two questions because others already did. But for the first one: You need to interact with them to actually listen in on their conversation. This might be why you're seeing the "!" but not the dialogue. I've caught my villagers having conversations multiple times after the update.

1. For some reason villager conversations are not common in NL like they were in ACWW or CF. But I have had one since the update.
2. I caught a monarch butterfly in front of Fauna and she clapped.
3. I think only Uchis give medicine, and snooties if they have a relationship with you

Hmm it could be I didn't talk to them as much as that one day in June where all I did was socialize.

I got medicine a few days ago and I saw Shari and Ricky talking to each other, I just wasn't fast enough to make it to them in time to see what it was about, but Ricky was super mad xD
I think you should just keep playing and eventually these things will happen.

Stitches gave me medicine last time I got stung.

Do you just say near them to see them talk or do you have to talk to them first?

They start talking on their own, if you see them making faces and such and you get close and press a as if to talk to them you can join the conversation :) I think it only happens if you are nearby, I am not sure. But you can't make them talk to each other.

I think I may have miss time it. I have to try again. I get so excited. Or maybe they were just making faces? I shall never know.

It makes me very sad when I watch lets play of Wild World and how on the first day there already multiple interaction between villagers.

I really want to get that game again.

I never got to play Wild World, my only AC experience is New Leaf, so I don't have much to go on but I have heard that villager personalities have been watered down and such :(

By a lot. And Wild World was water down from the Gamecube Population Growing. And this is the trend that all games in this generation are plague with sadly.

There was nothing more I love to do then talking to my animal villagers. The mean one were my favorite.
