So back in the gameCube version I always thought to myself "Where does Tortimer actually live, where is his house? He can't be living in the Town hall...right?" I always wished that you could unlock a secret little pathway that leads to Tortimer's house and stuff. In City Folk, have you ever wondered what is beyond those Gates? Is it just a huge open grass field that goes on for miles until you reach the next town...or city? After Kapp'n drops you off in the city you remember that boarded up doorway where Kicks shines your shoes, what did that door have behind it? And that window that lights up at night on top of Dr. Shrunks Theatre...A NPC villiger in the city mentioned something about a 2nd Floor in the Theatre...Hmmm. Lastly in New leaf. When you become the mayor when you arrive in your new town you get a strange message from an unknown sender. Who is this mysterious being? Is it a male or female? What happen for it to not arrive in the correct town? Did it get mixed up on the wrong train? Or did did the mysterious being do that on purpose? Why you? Is it watching you? Where is it now? What if it was Tortimer's son! The old mayor was going to pass down his mayorship to his son, but his son didn't want to follow his dad's footsteps so he used you to become the new mayor instead and wanted to stay anonymous about it?
How in the world was Tortimer able to be the mayor of so many towns?! Makes you wonder.. XD

What if towns are parallel universes and the train we ride to visit other towns goes through a portal.

I remember seeing a comic on tumblr with this idea to a degree. It was going to be Tortimer's son/grandson and Isabelle knew things would go bad. So she was surprised to see us walk off the train instead of the son/grandson and she took the chance and made us mayor instead. It was really cute and I love that idea. XD
If I recall, the comic finished it with Isabelle being amazed at how great we were at being the mayor.

I think it's kind of funny but also a little creepy that you can buy hamsters and birds as items in the game. In my first town, I actually got Kid Cat to buy a hamster cage that I had up in Re-Tail, which was hilarious, but also just a tad concerning. Is there some sort of weird caste system among the animals? xD

The alien tv message at 3:33 AM is the creepiest thing in this game IMO. Actually, it's one of the creepiest things in any video game I've seen in a long time. If you read about the numerology behind 3:33, and combine it with the fact that it's being used by E.Ts.. it's rather sinister, especially for a kids game. And it's so hidden! I doubt they expected many to see it.
