I dont play, but curious how are yall able to use online features? Im not sure how it works on Wii but knowing console isnt supported anymore. does it take modded services?

You have to set your settings to use the Wiimfi server if you're using USBloaderGX to play games, not sure for other loaders (also the DNS method doesn't work for animal crossing specifically)

there's a way to use the server (Wiimmfi) on an unmodded Wii, but it's a little easier if you do totally mod it. if you look up how to install wiimmfi some tutorials will come up!
