You have to set your settings to use the Wiimfi server if you're using USBloaderGX to play games, not sure for other loaders (also the DNS method doesn't work for animal crossing specifically)
there's a way to use the server (Wiimmfi) on an unmodded Wii, but it's a little easier if you do totally mod it. if you look up how to install wiimmfi some tutorials will come up!
