Angelfish is a misnomer

Okay, so I have been trying to finish my fish encyclopedia today and all I need is about a dozen more fish to catch. So I'm making a list on which fish I haven't caught and I decided to do the angelfish first. So far I've been trying to catch an angel fish for 3 hours. I have caught about 50 fish, and absolutely NONE of them were angelfish. I'm starting to get really annoyed because it's just a stupid tiny fish and it's not that rare. If anything, they should be called drive-you-insane-fish. Anyone else have trouble catching these little monsters? Does anyone have any tips on how to catch them?

I got mine fairly early on in May. They are quite small and are in the river. I think I caught it midmorning if I remember correctly.

Maybe if I go to a different town I'll have better luck.

You can only catch them from 4PM to 9AM. They're pretty easy to get though. Just keep trying :3

No; I haven't had any trouble, although I don't catch them as often as I did in early June. They're in the river around the morning-afternoon, I believe, and they're fairly small, but if you already know that, maybe tomorrow you will have better luck.

They are actually a small shadow and not a tiny shadow. So in other words, the size of a crucian carp rather than a goldfish. I thought initially that they were a tiny shadow because the app I was using said they were and I eventually started trying small shadows too and found one.

I COMPLETELY understand and feel your pain. I think angelfish was one of the fish that took forever for me to get as well along with the dreaded king salmon, saddled bichir, and the uncatchable gar. However, I persevered throughout all of those horrible fish and got my golden rod, WHICH I completely believe you will do and I'm rooting for you! =) That angelfish will be a piece of cake.

This only happens when you are really trying to catch a fish. Some days everything I catch is a goldfish, but let a villager ask for one, and they're nowhere to be found. Just start catching every small to medium sized shadow you see.
