This morning I checked my initiatives and found and found one that said this:

Lucky Item Initiative
-----------------------
You'll need a little luck to
complete this initiative. A
lucky item, that is. Wear
today's lucky item for your
sweet coupon reward.

Now, if today was a day that Katrina was visiting, I would understand. A this point I have no idea what to do. I guess sometimes we'll get ones we just can't complete if we wanted to?

Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the lovely phone? That tells you your lucky item as well. That or visit someones town with Katrina.

I restarted so I don't have the lamp any more. ...visiting a town with Katrina may be my best bet...

This happened to me to yesterday! I visited katrina from someone elses town and all she said to me was that my lucky item was a Dress... So i wore a dreas and still didnt get my meow points!

I got a initiative which is kinda pointless: taking away the litter from beach or river.

It would be necessary to disable the Beautiful Town ordinance...

You get a lucky item every day whether you visit Katrina or use the phone or not. Katrina and the phone just tell you what that item is.

What are initiatives? I thought you just got MEOW points for, like, helping residents or something. (O_o)

They're on your new profile card
there's 2 daily initiatives and 2 weekly ones. The tasks are usually stuff you'll just do in your normal play time (one of my characters had a weekly task for watering 20 flowers, i've been having lots of daily tasks for catching certain fish or bugs) though sometimes they require more specific or harder to get hings (usually for more meow coupons)

Same.

I get the "fish trash out of the water" initiative, but I can't do that because I have the beautiful town ordinance.

There are initiatives that are not impossible per se, but just more circumstantial, e.g. you need Katrina or a Lovely Phone for this one.

I got one that was "fish up 1 piece of trash" and I have the beautiful town ordinance in place so there's no trash to fish up, I also don't want to get rid of it so I'm just letting that initiative expire.

All initiatives I've seen still apply if you go to another person's town. In fact some require it.

Granted Katrina is a pain to get regardless...

Today is New Years Day, a holiday, and I have an initiative to work at the Roost Cafe today. It has to be done today in order to get the meow coupons. However, Brewster won't let me work because it's a holiday. An impossible initiative.

I also have be careful about smashing my ore rocks, since I have 4 profiles and sometimes the last profile I use each day will have an initiative to smash a rock, and I've already smashed it with my first profile. Not necessarily an impossible initiative, just a bit annoying. I also keep a few apples (my town fruit) and bananas (beach fruit) set aside in case I have an initiative to plant or sell these fruit on a day when they aren't growing.

Another pointless initiative is "Happiest homes initiative" which the player must visit 3 houses from the "Happy Home Showcase".

However most player might not even have a single house displayed in there.

The one initiative I can't figure out for the life of me is the 'Go to another town and ask to make the town hall exterior yours'. It's a vague memory but I'm sure you all know which one I'm talking about. It's not listed anywhere I could find online. And I have no idea how to do it.

Another frustrating thing is the Saharah initiative when she isn't even in town.

Wearing the tingle or celebration hat works for the lucky item initiative. I know some people don't have them yet. Anyone is welcome to catalog my tingle hat. That way you can order it, and always be prepared for that particular one.

That one is for your house. Drop by an online friends Nook Store and have an exterior, mail box, fence, pavement sent to your Nook. You don't have to buy it once it gets there.

For Saharah you have a week to get it.

For the fruit I tried selling it in my other town to get more bells. I didn't work.
I did find out that you don't have to pick fruit of the trees and than sell it. It can be fruit from your town stored in a locker.
I harvested baskets of fruit so my trees aren't bare. I use the fruit for decoration now.

All my players have a bag of fertilizer, fruit basket, trees and shrubs in their secret storage.
Also leave ten 100 coins in my island basket. I don't bug hunt except for coupons now. Just go to the basket and collect the coins for import 10 items.

-jaw drops- Is that all? I feel so stupid now. I thought it had to do with Town Hall exteriors/PWPs/Speaking to Isabelle in another village. So just ask him and the option should be there? Thanks for clearing that up!

That's a good idea for the island import. :'o

I was surprised when I got the tarantula task in my summer town. It's a one day challenge and two coupons. No point in trying for a one day and little coupons.
Passed on it a few times but tried it with a player that never tarantula hunted before. In 75 minutes the player saw her first one. It moved a little and than just sat there. I thought it would be impossible task.

Last night I had the challenge again in another summer town. The player also had donate 1 bug to the museum. The only bugs left for summer for the museum were the scorpion and tarantula. 80 minute in after doing chores and listening to a concert I found a scorpion. It didn't put up a fight and caught it. Went to the island, walked around town and found a tarantula. Again it didn't put up a fight. Both are in the museum. Fastest time catching both bugs in one night.

It was the first night for both players and it was too easy to catch them.

That's not impossible! That happened to me, too. I had to get some trush from the sea or the river, but the Beautiful Town Law was set! Initiatives' goal is to make the player use all the Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo features. So, you have to visit a town with Vanda's shop or her tent. I know that sometimes it's annoying, but inititives' purpose is that. Good luck! :)
