An easy seasonal thing to miss

With the Nook shopping app, or terminal in Resident Services, under the special goods menu, they added something up at the top. Usually you just have the daily selection menu, with the amiibo posters if you use those. Right next to that menu I just noticed the seasonal menu with the "Thank-you Mom mug", available until 5/31.

I'd like to know if people outside the U.S. are seeing other seasonal goodies here. Are we close to any foreign holidays?

I think there is a Japanese seasonal item for Children's Day, since that's on the 5th of May.

I also seeing the same mug. But even though I'm not in the US, my switch account is an US one so there's that...

They may also give the Japanese something related to the Golden Week, as if I'm not mistaken, happens in May

Golden Week is going on right now. It goes from April 29-May 5.

For those who are curious, Golden Week is just a week long period that has multiple holidays during it. People tend to have off work/school for at least some, if not all, of it. They tend to go on vacations during this timeframe because of that. I don't know if people are actually doing much for Golden Week this year though because of the pandemic.

I got the knapsack in the mail. I've seen people mention getting the mug in the mail too.

I saw the mug on Nook's app, but got nothing in the mail. Last month I got a "mom's tea something".

Yeah, i knew it was in May but not exactly when haha. As there's a bunch of holidays, I think they would make at least one special item for those.

About the knapsack, I received it while cycling some villagers in my old safe file, and I never went further than may. I also got other items which makes me think that mom items may be a little randomized? Or at least don't have like a set date, perhaps a set month or so?

I heard that they do have a set month! I never keep track when I'm cycling so I can't say for sure, but this is the list I found when I was searching a while back:
Jan - mom’s art / Feb - embroidery / Mar - candleset / Apr - tissue box / May - knapsack / Jun - apron / Jul - plushie / Aug - pen stand / Sept - cushion / Oct - tea cozy / Nov - kitchen mat / Dec - sweater / Birthday - cake
I didn't see anything about a set date, so anyone who hasn't gotten the knapsack yet most likely will later this month.

I live in Japan with a Japanese Switch/account and I still only have the mug in seasonal items. There's also been no news about it from the Japanese Nintendo/AC twitter. Children's Day isn't until tomorrow (May 5th) though, and the items may not show up in game until you connect to the internet like the other events so far? I'm not sure. The items are in the game files at least.
