NOT to be confused with the horror game with the same name, Idea Factory has just released a new otome game on PS Vita and Steam, and soon on Android and iOS.

Summary from Love-colored Sky:

One day in Summer, the heroine opens her eyes to find herself in an empty space between the dimensions. A strange spirit named Orion asks if she?s okay, explaining that he?s currently stuck inside her mind. On his way to the human world, Orion suddenly got absorbed into her mind, and he can?t get out for an unknown reason. Unfortunately her memories got kicked out in return, so now she?s completely amnesiac. In order to get out of her mind, Orion then offers his help to find her memories back.

Since the heroine is currently standing between the worlds, there?s a lot of parallel worlds in front of her very eyes. She doesn?t know from which world she came from, so Orion tells her to pick the one she feels right. However, Orion warns her to be careful of her amnesia. She wouldn?t want people to take advantage of the situation, such as getting money or stealing her boyfriend just because she doesn?t remember anything. He suggests consulting to her family first, but apparently the heroine lives alone in a one-room mansion.

So in order to regain her memories, the heroine closes her eyes to return to her world. There are four worlds to chose from ? heart, spade, clover and diamond. What kind of life awaits her in these worlds?

Amnesia: Memories is a visual novel with the focus on romance and mystery. The game has a lot of bad ends, as the world the heroine is in might be more dangerous than it looks. Your job is to help the MC get her memories back, while also making sure to avoid any danger she might encounter. Each world--represented by card suits--features different love interest as the focus.

The game is pretty interesting, and one of the few otome games back then to have mystery as part of the plot (It was originally released in 2011). It was also adapted into anime a while back. The character designs are a bit odd (Seriously, who wears that many belts when they're not in a RPG???) but from what I heard, the story is intriguing. I'm currently slowly playing the game, starting with the world of Hearts (Shin), and will be moving on to Diamond (Toma), Clover (Kent), and Spades (Ikki) in that order.

Anyone else here is playing the game, or are interested in trying?

I will probably get it on Steam at some point unless it's too censored (I kinda wanted it on Vita but don't really want to buy a new one for that only)... I liking me otome/vn stuff so it looks good.

What do you mean by censored? While the game does have some disturbing, problematic situation in it (this game has A LOT of bad ends for an otome game, as a start) I don't think it got censored. This game isn't directed at younger crowds after all, and while the rating says 12 and above, I think 15 and above would be more appropriate.

There are actually two upcoming otome games for Vita, Code;Realize and Norn9! The former in particular has a lot of praise, while the latter has mixed reactions but an interesting story line. I'm also considering getting a Vita because of all the VNs getting localized but getting a new system is still too expensive for me at the moment, and I really couldn't afford playing more games @_@

I would guess it's from Capcom if it wasn't for the lack of 'Ultra' and 'Turbo'.

I was just thinking in general, they tend to censor those because they think it's all loli/shota and boobs, but hey if it's that then it shouldn't be a problem I hope.. most VN's that aren't jrpgs tend to be kinda cut once it reaches Steam so yeah.. as long as it gets a proper rating I guess.

LOL yeah the name is... redundant? I don't know the english word for it. The original JP title is actually 'Amnesia V' since it's a Vita port but I guess that wouldn't work well when the English crowd got the vita version first. The fandiscs also has 'Amnesia Later' and 'Amnesia Crowd' which doesn't really make sense but probably sound fancy to Japanese speakers.

I think you're talking about eroge which are actually porn games that was censored so they can be on Steam and reach a bigger crowd, since Steam doesn't accept porn games. Not every visual novel has porn in it, though the majority does. If the game's focus isn't pornography then it won't get censored iirc, they just get the appropriate rating. Akiba's Strip involves taking clothes off NPC but it is on Steam and uncensored, because the stripping isn't meant to be sexual.

Otome is a different genre from eroge and focuses more on romance so I'm not sure why you'd relate the two. If you want them uncensored then Steam wouldn't be the right place to look for those games

Ehh, not just the eroge/hentai games, I've seen other get cut that doesn't have that kind of mature material but you can always patch it *cough*

Oh well since I can't really get a Vita I'll get it on Steam I guess. The LE for Vita is gorgeous but not overly much for bishonen stuff lol.
