Amiibo Villagers

I noticed that W.Link has his birthday posted on his wikia page but not a list of gifts he would like. This got me wondering if it's true for all amiibo villagers and wondering if anyone has had success or failure with gift giving to such villagers.

Note: It's almost Link's birthday in my game and a while ago he possibly dropped a hint as to what he wanted for his present. I was carrying a giant clam and h mentioned that it could be made into a music box and then given to someone for their birthday, so I looked it up and his favourite song is K.K. Western and, unlike other villagers, he doesn't start with music or a music player when he moves to your town. So I'm made him a music box with K.K. Western and I'm going to see if he likes it. I'll update on my findings.

Update: I gave him the thing! W.Link "Uh... Oh, yes, it's K.K. Western! I sorta hoped for this gift! Huh? No, I'm serious, Princess! You know, it's not really good to stick to a specific style. Thanks, Princess! This is the first time someone has been so very kind to me..."

Weird, I've been playing the game for 3 years and never knew that villagers can drop hints of what they want for their birthday. Hmm...

There may not be gifts on his wikia page since he's so new. Though your idea seems great.

I'll have an update in about an hour, I'm still not sure if it actually was a hint... It may just be a way of telling the player how to make a music box but in his dialog he did mention his birthday was coming up.

I could have sworn there was a way of figuring this stuff out, like based on his personality and his style or something? I really want to get him something good!
