Amiibo not moving in?

So after getting my hands on some of the new Welcome Amiibo cards, I tried to move Tybalt into my town using the cards.
I have heard/watched videos showing that you can choose a villager to move out if you have 10 villagers.
When I brought Tybalt up through Wisp, I got the options of "Come and play!" and "Give me something!"
I chose "Come and Play!" thinking that I would have another option of him moving in or him coming to my RV, but then found that he went straight to my RV.
I tried to move him in, and asked him to move in, but it wouldn't let him.

What am I doing wrong? D;

I'm confused by what you mean lol... the welcome amiibo cards always go to your RV site if you tell them to come and play, if you talk to them after the first convo they give you the option for them to move in.

Are you saying they don't give you that option? Or that he says he'll move in but then doesn't?

It gives me the option to ask him to move in, but then he says no.
Am I not able to move him in that way if I have 10 villagers?

Let's say you have 10 villagers and then summon Wisp and use Tybalt's card. You can still choose come and play. His rv will show up. Talk to him 2 times in the rv. On the second time if you're prompted with choices, ask him to live there. He'll say Isabelle told him the town is full, but since you're the mayor he asks you to choose someone to kick out. Select who it is. It always will work. So you're doing something wrong if that didn't happen. Try it again.

Hmm I will try again tomorrow and see what he says, see if I get the option to kick someone out.
I talked with him at least 20 times

Did you have anyone moving in/out that day? Or a plot turn up in town? I can only imagine that's the only thing that would prevent him from moving in.

If an event such as the Fishing Tourney is occurring villagers cannot be kicked out since the game's programming prevents villagers from being boxed on these days

They will move on paths if there's nowhere else to go, that won't prevent them moving in. I even left enough space for when I moved Claude in and he went on top of paths anyway.

Was there another villager planning on moving out? Not sure if that would make a difference to whether you can kick another villager out? Not experienced it yet

It must have been the Fishing tourney, because I was able to ask him to move in today, and get rid of the pesky void villager my friend gave me awhile back xD

Now since I have never done this before,
Do the villagers set a plot down on the next day? Or do I have to wait a day for my other villager to be kicked out?
I want to make sure I plot reset on the right day>.<

His plot should appear tomorrow. That means you should plot reset tomorrow before you log in. The kicked out villager should be in boxes today and gone tomorrow.
