Am I the only one who...?

I also like it when towns are less organised, and houses are scattered around
And yeah, too many patterns on the ground can look bad IMO. I prefer there to be some natural grass on show too

- I don't like fake water (the little creeks people have as designs on the floor)
- I don't like Coco. She looks like an empty shell and that kind of creeps me out. (I don't have a problem with other people liking her, though. I get that everyone has their preferences and some people probably don't like my villagers either).
- I like the wolves a lot, but I wouldn't want a town full of them. I also think it's a shame that most of them are crankies (even though that's my favorite personality)
- I like both natural and unnatural towns. What I don't like is when people go too far in that every inch has to be covered by a design.

It seems to be unpopular here to like the pink brick path, but I do. :) I've never seen the kawaii (sp?) town referred to, I don't have tumblr or a dream town, and don't post pics of my town online. I just like it, so I use it. :)

And someday, when it's all exactly the way I want, and I've lived with it for awhile, I will completely redo everything in a different style. My "complete town" will be temporary. I can't imagine what I would do in the town if it was really complete and unchangeable.

I want as many villagers to come through my town as possible, but I do love Alice. She's the one I try the hardest to keep. If I ever get Lolly, I will keep her, too. She was my favorite in CF and I miss her. Other than that, they're all fair game to be tossed out and replaced. :)

- I don't really like most of the deer. (Bam, Erik & Fauna being the exception)
- Peppy is my favorite personality
- I hate towns COVERED in flowers. Like every empty spot, covered in flowers. It looks really messy
- I hate brick paths without edges. They look weird and really unnatural.
- I really dislike Kapp'n. He's ugly and annoying
- Julian freaks me out. I get the appeal since he's a unicorn, but I hate the horse villagers.

I don't want paths/highly manicured look in my town. I made the entire north half of my town into the thickest cedar forest possible w/ no villagers living there (just a few PWPs and a secluded log cabin) and I like it that way even though most would say it's terrible.

Are you kidding? That sounds absolutely lovely

It's not so much a hate thing, but I was really bummed that you couldn't put bushes or pwp on the beach. That's the only place I would plant hibiscus starts and build the bonfire if I could.
And this is more of tumblr ac thing, but I really hate how quickly people latch on to new trends? I mean to each their own, but it seems so cookie cutter to me.

I agree with so many things in this thread. Btw I'm new here, so hi :)

I despise how shop owners follow you everywhere you walk. It really annoys me so I always mess with them by running in circles around the shop.

Hey there! ^.^
Aha I also hate that, but I think a lot of people do

This is my first animal crossing so I can't compare it to the others but I hate when they all get on a kick to swap clothing with each other. One time it got so bad almost all of my villagers all had the same ugly shirt on. lol That white button down one in the store. lol

Most of the ways villagers swap clothes are preventable, though. I've only seen them change into non-pattern clothing spontaneously 2-3 times. If they're wearing patterns (they're the clothes in the middle section of the shop, if you try to buy it, it'll be different than from pieces with actual names) just change the designs on there for umbrellas and hats. Swap out the stuff in Re-Tail with overpriced fruit or keep a close eye on it so that there's no clothing being sold there. If a villager asks you to deliver a package to someone else, either don't deliver it or save and continue, open the package, and if it's clothing don't deliver it (if it isn't, you can quit without saving and reload at that point again).

Actually I do like the online community aspect. It just seems like there were more things to do alone in thd GC game. It seems like with the addition of online and multiplayer to many games, the single player mode gets slimmed down.

I don't know/care about the Game Cube game if that's what you're talking about but in ACNL there's plenty to do alone... I spend most of the time playing the game offline and I've never felt pressured to use the multiplayer features when I didn't want to do it.

getting money in this game to pay off loans without the help of forums is literally like a job..

I agree. I have trouble getting all my house loans paid because it's so boring.

i wish kappn didnt sing tbh. i get kinda annoyed going to the island so i just never do.

That's not really an unpopular opinion though, most people seem to hate his singing. And I think you can skip it by pressing B a few times.

i hate how people have flowers in set designs lol its annoying
thats now how they grow!!

Except it is, not in the wild, but if you've ever been to a garden they do make designs with flowers. I personally don't bother with that in my town but it's not such a weird thing.

I don't care about villagers being 'original' or what they wear. I like giving them nice furniture though, so their houses still look nice

-I don't like when villagers start dressing really weird clothes and they don't look great on it
-I hate gracie fashion sense, you can wear the most ridiculous outfits and still pass, once you done everything according with her tastes but I love her shop xD. Last fashion check I looked marvelous with Samus mask and some other clothes(I have to find the screenshot I've taken).

- I strongly dislike the cherry blossoms, I feel like the bright pink trees end up looking gimmicky for most towns. It ends up just looking ridiculous and fake.

- I dislike the Princess/Fairytale exterior decors. I find them really tacky and ugly tbh and I wish there was just an option to tweak the townhall/train station's roof and exterior like you can with your houses.

- I like sending villagers cute furniture to put in their houses because some of them have terrible houses that shouldn't ever stay original (I'm looking at you Renee.)

- I don't like the idea of duping items/villagers. I feel as though it legitimately takes all of the fun out of the game.

So this is "a thread of people's 'unpopular' views on animal crossing new leaf" and I can't help but notice a lot of people on here are saying the same things.

"I like random placement of everything"
"I'm fine with villagers I like leaving forever"
"Original villagers are stupid, I like the chaos"
"I don't like the villagers everyone else defines as popular"
"I hate the term 'dreamies' and the concept behind it"
"I hate it when people do things I define as cheating like time travel and resetting"

Is it really an unpopular opinion if a bunch of people agree with you? I swear I've heard all of these several times each so I'm gonna offer an opinion I almost never hear in the hopes that it fits into a thread of "unpopular" opinions.

I don't care how other people play their game. If they aren't actively destroying and stealing from towns they visit then what do I care if they play the game their own strange way? Games are meant for fun and if their method of fun involves a perfectly symmetrical all-pink town of original octopuses that takes place in the year 2050 then what do I care? It's a bit insane, and I wouldn't do it myself, at all, ever, but if that's what that theoretical time-traveling obsessive compulsive octopus fangirl calls 'fun' then more power to them.

Am I the only one who feels it doesn't take away from my fun when someone else has fun in a different way? It's one thing to dislike popular things but I feel some people are looking down on people who don't play in the 'right way' while complaining that everyone has the same town.

I agree that on this thread, although it is supposed to be 'unpopular opinions' a lot of people have the same ones. However, I think that within the whole fandom, especially on TBT, opinions such as liking random house placement and not having dreamies aren't the norm. I mean, look at all the threads about dreamies and resetting.
Even if these opinions aren't THAT unpopular, they are definitely under-represented in the fandom, so it's nice to have a thread seeing so many people with different opinions.

I don't like paths that are designs. I know a lot of towns have them, but I much rather prefer lining places you want to go with flowers.

I have quite a few haha...
I don't see what the big fuss is over Isabelle, I hardly speak to her unless I want a new PWP.
I find the Mermaid set is over rated. It's great if you have a sea or underwater theme going on, but in most houses it just looks out of place.
The system to get Gracie to set up shop is awful. I hate how random it is and the fact it can take months before you even get the first visit *is still waiting for the first visit* >:(
Why don't people hate Horse Mackerel as much as Sea Bass? I catch WAY more Horse Mackerel than Sea Bass and they're worth less. They are the bain of my existence and I hate them way more than Sea Bass.

- Stitches creeps me out (those eyes, yeesh, reminds me of the button-eyed people in Coraline BUT WORSE -.-)
- I really don't care for the fake water features people make with designs. It just looks odd since the real water in the game is animated...
- Same goes for flower designs. Looks awkward because they're 2D in a 3D environment.
- I can't stand Shrunk but idk if that's a popular or unpopular opinion >__> He looks like a squishy pink baby with gills and a mustache. Nothanks.

Uuuuh, I'm sure there are a bunch of other things but I'm totally drawing a blank right now.
