Thought it might be cool to have a thread of people's 'unpopular' views on animal crossing new leaf.

Basically talk about something you think/do in animal crossing that is not the norm.
In other words, a thread for people to express their special snowflake syndrome thoughts

So to start off with ... I like random villager house placement

I like random maps
I like random house placement
I like how you can't make villagers stay forever
I like how you can't convince villagers in boxes to stay

I think Klaus is somewhat decent.
I like how we can only get 2 bush starts a day.

Yes, those are my legitimate opinions, I am not lying.

I don't like super rigid and organised towns that much, like the ones where all the villager houses are in neat rows and every little bit of space is utilised with either patterns, bushes, trees, pwps etc etc. Idk why, but a lot of them make me feel kinda claustrophobic. I prefer to go with the flow a bit more.

I'm astounded at the amount of awful gameplay design features in this game. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing; I'm sure a lot of the game's charm comes from all these little features. But small things like going through a ridiculous dialogue tree just to use wireless connections (and having to start over from the beginning if you accidentally chose the wrong option - ie. local instead of Internet), only being able to hold about 1.6m on your person at any time, no separate inventory for tools, not being able to manually place houses/projects and being forced to talk to Isabelle/Nook every time just to see if you got the positioning correctly... I could go on and on.

I think it's a testament to the entertainment that this game provides, when people can put up with design that wouldn't be tolerated in most other video games.

Julian is way overrated and creepy.
Julian looks like a troll face horse that was painted blue with a erection slapped on the top of his head.

I like Marshal though, He seems like a cool guy.

I like Rodney and Katt too.
But seriously though Julian looks like a bloody mary type thing. Just go in the closet with the door closed and the lights off and spin around and say Bloody Julian, Bloody Julian, Bloody Julian! Bam there he is to corrupt not just your game, but your soul...

Is it really unpopular to like random maps? Didn't even occur to me. When I saw the first map presented I clicked OK right away and never looked back.

Hm... I love the terrible logic in this game lol.

Ikr. Imagine if you were a villager in a town where the mayor constantly abused you everyday. Wouldn't you move out and not stay? lol I guess not though.
ANIMAL CROSSING LOGIC BABY

Also, I don't really like to rush things in the game. If I focus too much on getting more bells in less time, I find that I enjoy it a lot less. I've had the game for a year now, and my house still isn't fully upgraded yet, and my town isn't finished yet, and that's fine with me. I don't buy villagers, I'm waiting for my dreamies to come to my town on their own. I do TT, but never more than one day at a time.

Idk, I can definitely see the appeal in getting everything you want in the game as fast as possible, but I don't think it's worth it if I'm going to have less fun in the process. :P

I agree with this.
