So I managed to get my hands on a golden watering can thanks to an online user, but once I used it I didn't like anything about it other than the color.
It takes longer to water flowers, especially individual ones and for the area it does cover, I feel the silver watering can is more effective and faster at the job.
Thankfully I didn't sell my silver watering can, otherwise I'd be kicking myself right now. xc
I think I read something similar about the golden watering can actually not saving you time in the long run. I prefer no watering can at all. Gotta have that beautiful town ordinance.
I also have Beautiful Town set in my game, but I occasionally have to switch it off for the sake of a MEOW task. In those instances, yes I definitely prefer the silver can.
The thing is, I think the game is interesting in that the silver and gold tools each have their pros and cons in general. It's not that the gold tools are just an improved version of the silver ones, it's that they have -different- advantages. Of course, in some ways that sucks because it just means the tools will take up even more inventory space, but still I think the concept is interesting.
I agree that if you're focusing single flowers the silver can saves time, however when I'm breeding hybrids I prefer the golden can since I place my flowers in 3x3 squares with a Jacobs Ladder in the center.
I prefer the gold watering can for my purposes because I use the Beautiful Town Ordinance and only water a few groupings of flowers on my beach to breed hybrids. The gold watering can covers more area so it works better for me. But I know the silver watering can has a much faster animation so it would definitely be better for watering single flowers.
I'm in general more a fan of the silver tools, mostly because I find the golden one kinda ugly. In case of
the watering can, I actually prefer the normal one even more than the silver or golden one. But if I had
to choose, I would also take the silver one, since it feels like it's faster in terms of watering the flowers
than the golden one.
I'm neutral on both ends, but I feel like I'm leaning more onto silver watering cans since I don't have a gigantic flower field. The golden watering can has a longer animation compared to the silver watering can. I'm still gonna use it despite having a beautiful ordinance so I can breed more hybrid flowers.
I prefer all the silver items - silver watering can, fishing rod, net - except the axe. I use the golden axe so that it won?t ever break.i like the look of the silver axe better, though!

The silver can thou water's weird spots, it's not even consistent. Like the gold will always water 3x3, but the silver waters whatever is closer to it instead of the rows.
I agree. The silver watering can is much better. Plus, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it helps with growing hybrids better than the gold. Correct me if I'm wrong.
ii feel the EXACT same way!! ii have the gold watering cans just for show, and gave each of my other 3 characters the gold ones, bht ii always keep the silver on my Mayor.. its sooooo convenient, ii used the gold once and was like nope noway.. lol
Most of the time I prefer using the gold one because of... well, efficiency. I like how it covers a lot of terrain and since my flowers are usually in big packs, it's cool for me. However I much prefer the silver/green design of the silver watering can. I think it looks much more beautiful in my opinion.
