I've seen videos on the famous horror dream town, Aika Village (Dream Code: 2600-0218-7298). And I think I wanna discuss the possibilities of the stories!

WARNING! *Spoiler!* I suggest you go search the town yourself and experience the story of Aika before posting in this thread or reading below.

And now, onto my theory of Aika Village!

The first house:
In the first section of the town, the town seems perfect, with perfect fountain PWP's, perfect peaches EVERYWHERE, and also roses everywhere. In the first house, you see Aika and her parents as mannequins celebrating what seems like a birthday, but you also see that there is a back room which is blocked off by a dresser. I feel this signifies that there are secrets in this household, kind of like what happens behind closed doors. This family is not picture perfect. Upstairs, you see a large picture of Aika's mom and a family portrait along with a dog in a dog house. Aika obviously admires her mom and wants to please her mom.

The second house:
As you can see, the town looks like it is deteriorating and looks like a maze/labyrinth. In the Police Station, there are only beehives in the lost and found. You find a total of 10 graves, all with doghouses buried at the top. 10 dogs, 10 villagers. Hmm... And then when you enter the second house, it is another labyrinth. The rooms seem like Biblical references. Adam and Eve, where sin originated from a seemingly "perfect" Garden of Eden. The other room shows dolls all having what seems like a feast. This could signify the Last Supper, where Jesus dined with a sinner who would betray him. The red doll which looks like Aika has an axe behind it, possibly signifying a sinner or a soon-to-be-betrayal. The other room at the back, I believe, shows an unsettling room filled with stuffed animals and dolls facing the other way and if you turn to the back wall, there are "eyes" watching them. I think this signifies the loss of innocence because someone is watching over her and not allowing her to be the child she is.

The third house:
Another labyrinth with book cases. There's a framed picture of Aika's mom. There's also a room to the right with Easter eggs and a piano. The Easter eggs could signify egg shells, as in walking on eggshells. And usually parents will force a child to play piano, signifying the need to be perfect. Aika's mom has forced Aika to become the perfect child, which Aika struggles with because she is walking on eggshells. In another room to the North, it is a room filled with pages of papers scattered everywhere and centered are a book and a binder which are enclosed in a glass case. I believe that the pages on the floor signify that it is Aika's pages of tedious school work, but she is only labeled by the grades seen on the binder/book in the glass case. Aika is being pushed to have perfect grades and is stressing out. There is also a room that shows Aika/the doll watching a TV that doesn't work and a room filled with patterns of her mother. It seems like Aika is obsessed with her mother and making her mother happy. Downstairs in the basement, there is Aika/the doll, a bunch of papers, a caged bird singing notes that are already written for it, a bed with a body outline, a pink baby carriage, and another framed picture of Aika's mother. Aika abandoned her innocence and childhood and sacrificed it for her mom, who wanted to see Aika become the perfect daughter who has amazing grades. Aika couldn't cope. The body outline on the bed could signify that someone died. And I'm betting Aika killed her mother for driving her crazy with perfect expectations.

The fourth house:
The fourth house looks familiar, like the "perfect" first house, except this time it is far from perfect. It is torn, the lights are off and everything is a complete mess. The top floor, Aika's room, shows a picture of her mom scratched out, in the family portrait Aika is scratched out, and the dog is scratched out. Her mom is scratched out because Aika is sick and tired of trying to be perfect and being pushed over the edge to be perfect. Aika is also scratched out because she isn't perfect like her mother wants her to be. It probably drove her crazy. And we also know the dog is dead. Going back to the front room, the dresser is moved so we can see what is hidden in the back room. It is a "jail" that Aika's mannequin and her doll is in that is surrounded by heads watching them. The secret from that perfect family in the first house is now shown: Aika felt like she was in "prison" and being watched and couldn't escape, leading her to create a false sense of comfort in the doll, who could not replace the comfort that should've come from Aika's mother. Driving herself crazy from stress and the crazy expectations from her mom, Aika killed her mom. The town has deteriorated, littered with everything from trash to sweets. After exiting the house and finding the wetsuit in the town, you can travel down to the beach and see that there are "red shoes" sitting at the edge of the shore. In Japan, it is custom for people to take their shoes off before committing suicide. Aika's dressed in all red. Hmm... If you put on the wetsuit (dug up near the second house, btw *spoiler within a spoiler lol* you can see that there is a small section of beach that is only accessible by swimming. Swimming there, you see another grave with sweets as offerings. The sweets could symbolize the childhood/innocence Aika never got to have. When you remove the black roses, you see there are not one, but two holes where you can dig *WARNING SPOILER AHEAD LOL*. The obvious hole above the grave shows a skeleton. The second hole hidden by the black rose shows a buried dolly, or Aika's totem (like the dog's totem was the doghouse). Aika committed suicide.

PHEW!~ That was fun -_- Lol. So what are your thoughts/theories on Aika Village?

Well, i can explain why the same girl teleports around the town. If you sit on the big event tree, it actually says that there are three girls in the town with the same name and clothing.

Yeah, they're all Aika, the same girl! The entire village is a story, so the three girls are the same person.

I think the best theory I read was that the doll murdered the mother, the dad buried her then committed suicide himself. So it is the mad dolly and the now insane Aika together forever.

Great theory, mine is pretty much the same apart from I belive the mother killed the child for not being 'perfect'. Later commuting suicide and the ghost of the mother (or daughter) scribbled out the picture of the family in the forth house because the family is not a family any more. I have also read some other interesting theories :)

I like your theory! I've never particularly believed the evil doll storyline some people think, but that's just me. One of the things I see brought up a lot is that, in the Garden of Eden scene, the female statue is fake (the 2 statues are sometimes thought to represent her father and mother). This could be just because the creator was too lazy to find a real one, or because in the Garden of Eden Eve eats the apple, or the popular thoughts when the fake is brought up are that the mother cheated on the father. However, if you take it that way, the whole story can be changed up. That's one of the things I love about Aika, one little thing can completely alter how you think of it.

I've always believed that it was supposed to be the possesed doll taking over Aika, killing her mom, and her dad commiting suicide, so the doll would have all of Aika's attention for herself. This actually makes a lot more sense. Nice theory.

Cool, creative theory. You neglected to mention that behind the grave on the secret beach there are three dig spots - the last contains a time capsule.

I didn't know there was a time capsule behind the grave, hmm.

My theory is that the player the village is owned by has too much time on his/her hands.

I think all theories on Aika are pretty good. I like how the creator left the visitors to interpret the story. Therefore you can get tons of stories from peoples' imaginations.

I have to agree. Despite the town being an awfully weird way to express something, I think you could consider Aika village art really. Many people have their own interpretations and its very interesting how a fan town in a dinky little animal crossing game could do all of this.

I like to think that the red outline is actually a lonely death, or kudokushi in Japan.
It's where bodies lie in places undiscovered for a long time, and as time passes, the remaining liquids are seeping from the corpse and black liquid makes the outline of the corpse.
In a spoiler, because it may sound disturbing..

But did you notice that the size of the characters in her name changes every time you talk to an Aika?

Wonderful theory. I haven't put much thought into my theory, but it's sort of like yours in the way that her mother had wanted Aika to be perfect.

But did you notice that the size of the characters in her name changes every time you talk to an Aika?

That's probably because you can't have the same name as someone else in your village, and Rover (heh, Rover... being in Aika really makes you forget you're playing an Animal Crossing game...) makes you change it. Also because she becomes more twisted as you go on.

WOW, I haven't heard about Aika Village for quite sometime. The last time I heard that name come up was around last year. I can't believe people still are talking about this. It was a nice little horror town. Did it ever get any updates?

aika village scared me so bad i didnt even get as far as the fourth house
i went into the third house and saw the doll and the axe and thought nope and literally pegged it back to luna to wake up hahahha

I liked visiting Aika village, early on in my NL gaming it opened my eyes up to the storytelling ability of dream towns. Though I remember hearing about the 4am music being "spooky" and even before I listened to it I just knew it would be what was playing whilst I visited Aika village (other than Hypno KK..)

sigh i decided to man up and visit again for the first time in like almost a year and now i am terrified and yet again i balked at the 3rd house and SIGH i won't be able to sleep now this was a bad idea
