Advice on landscaping

Hi, I was thinking about landscaping my village by creating paths, bushes, etc. So do any of you have any advice for this? Am I going to have to demolish any public works projects or cut down a lot of trees?

That depends on what you want. Are the PWPs in the way where you want a path to go? Do you want to line up your trees of have a more random pattern?

Having themed towns or more organized laid out towns are going to take more time and effort. Having more natural type towns won’t require as much work (especially if you like the placement of things now).

Honestly it’s your town! Setting down paths and planning out your town will take a lot of time and effort. But in my opinion it’s totally worth it!

Do I need to have the qr code in able's sisters store in order to get a path design? I don't time travel so its taking longer than expected but I have been talking to one of the sister's everyday. I really want to start adding paths so when visitors come they don't ruin my flowers

Make your north mostly composed of cedar trees, middle oak, and south fruit. And I need to come over to your town to look at places for a path. Outline it with bushes, making an opening where you want people to explore. Of course, state a theme and I will design a path.

Yes! You have to talk to Sable 10 days in a row to scan and make QR codes. You can design your own paths without the sewing machine tho! But if you want to use other people’s paths you need the sewing machine!

It is hard to give out landscaping advice when we can't see your town. I can just give out a general "do what makes you happy!" advice which is kind of useless if you are looking for specifics. Do you have a Dream Address you can post so we can take a look at your town?

Don't know if my thoughts will help. I prefer my town laid out in certain ways and I always set up a grid with path squares and it makes it easy to map out where PWPs will go as well as trees and bushes. I like my towns nice and even.

I didn’t read much in comments before posting the following advice:

Have your gate open—like as if you are inviting guests—to “nearby”.

I do this so I can work on my town for a while—and it prevents the villagers from changing their shirts.


As for the paths:

If you have envisioned what you are going to do, commit to doing it.

Chopping down obstructive trees is good. Ultimately, doing that—plus making changes to any likewise obstructive Public Works Projects—will help your town flow better.

My first town is Applewin. (It is in my signature.) I began it on August 17, 2013. I ended up doing some of what you have mentioned.
