Advice for placing patterns around my fountain/townhall?

1So I've tried over and over again to get it to look good, but no matter what I do it just looks weird! Can anyone help me out?

I'd like to keep the wood planks and the water pattern, but it just looks odd. I don't mind getting rid of the wood around the fountain, if that's what's maybe making it look weird.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

That looks beautiful. I think I'll have to chop down the trees and bushes and redesign it completely! Thank you for the help
