Advice about bridges...

Hey everyone,
I've wanted to replace the three Cobblestone bridges in my town for a while now with either Suspension or Wooden bridges, as these fit in better with my town theme. But I've heard that Isabelle might sometimes refuse new bridges from being built if they're too close to buildings, even if they've been there previously? So I was just wondering whether I would have a problem placing new bridges in the exact same spots as I already have them, before I go ahead and ruin my whole town layout

I'm particularly worried about the one in the centre, right next to my Police Station

It doesn't look like Isabelle is gonna let you build that one next to the Police Station. I can't see a problem with the other two... but yeah, I can see that middle one definitely being a problem.

It's very unlikely that Isabelle will let you rebuild the bridge by the Police station. When I changed my bridges a few days ago, I had to demolish a Windmill PWP just to get it back in the same spot, but of course, the Police station cannot be demolished ><.

Thanks, looks like I'll just have to do some rearranging if I want the different bridges.

I have a windmill right next to my other bridge that I forgot about as well! I hate the way PWPs are handled in New Leaf, I hope they change it up whenever a new main series AC game is released.

You could put the middle bridge diagonally just above it, in the corner of she won't allow it where it currently is. People say that you need 5 spaces but I've been able to place them close to villager houses and other PWPs. Seems you need the most space (5 squares) when it is close to a player house.

I think the bridge has to be 5 or 6 spaces away from the nearest building for her to let you place it.

yeah, as everyone said, it doesnt look like youll be bale to build the one in the middle

With a new bridge you need a 4x4 space on either side of the bridge, with an existing you only need a 1x4 space

The only way I can see you placing another bridge in the middle region is either diagonally above the current bridge or vertically following the line straight from station. Hope that helps.
